I have MCE 2005 SP3. The installed eHome IR Transceiver works just fine with
the MCE remote. What I am wondering is, if I want to connect another device
(mobile phone, dive computer, etc) via IR do I need to get another IR
receiver?

No.
It only provides support for the Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver
device.
