I installed a "DNTV Dual Hybrid PCIe S2" digital TV tuner the other day on my
Vista x64 machine. Hardware is E6600 on Gigabyte 965p-dq6, XFX 7900Gt extreme
and 4x1GB RAM. I had issues with the TV stuttering in VMC. A reboot of the
computer would always fix it. I contact the support people (for the tuner)
and am told to remove some of my RAM and see how it goes. So I pull out 2GB
of RAM (leaving 2GB) and try again. It fixed the problem. What is going on
here?

Apparently your MOBO does not support more the 4GB of ram. Possibly you need
a BIOS update.

I updated my BIOS and put the 2GB of RAM back in (taking total back to 4GB).
I am experiencing the same TV stuttering problem. Seems to work fine with
2GB.

The following KB article should help you in understanding your problem and
may lead to a solution.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605/en-us

What Nvidia driver release are you using for your graphics card since it is
what is having problems keeping up not your tuner card.

I just upgraded to a Gigabyte 8800GT with 169.25 drivers. My MOBO has F11
bios. The new graphics card has not changed things. I did try 3x1GB of RAM
and it works fine. I also read in other forums it may be a "having all 4
dimm slots on MOBO occupied issue" vice 4GB of RAM issue. Only way I could
test that, is if I have 2 x 2GB sticks (I don't).

From reading the article it sounds like I have "PAE-mode-induced driver
compatibility issues"

Any other ideas? It's not a show stopper becuase 3GB of RAM is plenty for my
PC.

I have no other suggestions, however, others reading this thread may.
If 3GB works for you that may be the only solution in any case you may
consider a 2GB ReadyBoost flash driver or chip to improve Paging file and
Super Fetch performance.
