I'd like to leave my Vista machine in standby mode with it programmed to
record a TV show. Is there any way to have the machine wake up - record -
then return to standby unattended ? Thanks in advance !

No problem really I'm just exploring MC. So if I configure power setting to
enable " sleep " the machine will lapse into standby after the show
completes ?

My computer hibernates after a time interval that I have set. It wakes up to
record TV and goes back into Hibernation again after finishing recording.
Sleep will be similar. It also wakes up for the scheduled defrag and other
things that are scheduled.

In the Power Options, System Settings, you can turn on or off the password
protection on wakeup.
