Get 'abnormal program termination error' when trying to access CD's that use
GraphicsDesk.exe . Can uninstall/install the graphics software with no
problem.

They used to work. One new thing I did was play around with the Media
software - is there some conflict or is there some new security problem or ??

I updated to XP version 3 with no discernible difference.

Thanks for any help
Sally

This is not a Media Center issue, repost to one of the relevant XP groups
such as general or hardware or contact the software vendor.

I have seen other posts about people unable to play their game CDs claiming
that the MEDIA software usurped their CDROM access. I changed CDROM autoplay
preference to 'ask me' but this didnt seem to help. Any other thoughts would
be appreciated ..

Explain exactly what "One new thing I did was play around with the Media
software" means and maybe someone can offer insight.

The issues you many have seen on this board about Media Center may have been
about DVD not play in software outside of Media Center (or vice versa)
because of decoder problems.

Did you know that if you start your reply inside the quote indicators -
the ">" charactrs - it looks like part of the post that you are quoting
instead of like new material?
