I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004. After removing "AntiSpyware
2008" Windows Media Player, Display, and other applications would not load. A
message box appears "This file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in The Folders Options control
panel." I am unable to do so in the Folders Option control panel. I want to
to repair the files or fix the problem. I am not able to do any restores. Can
this problem be fixed and how? I appreciate any help I can get.

Do some research on how to create an association - the advice given is
correct.

I opened Windows Help Center and searched for "File association". The
first hit gives a method that works (a bit different from the above).

You pointed me in the right direction and I began to read information on "File Association". I learned enough to begin to understand the type of problem I had. Thank you again for your help.

Did you know that if you start your reply inside the quote indicators -
the ">" characters - it looks like part of what you are quoting and not
like new material?

Anyway, you did what I was hoping your would do :-)
