I have recently built a Vista Home Premium system primarily for Media
Center. I have ripped ~600 CD's and overall I am pretty happy with Media
Center but there certainly is room for improvement.
I would like to see is the ability to display artists from albums tagged as
Soundtrack or Various Artists. For example if I go into Media Center and
display my music by artist none of the artists from these CD's is displayed.
But if I click on an artist and it brings up an option to display albums or
songs if I select songs you can see songs that are from soundtracks for
example (assuming that artist is on said album). I realize this could
greatly expand the artist list if you have numerous compilation albums but
it would make it easier to access this type of information.
My biggest complaint is there is no way, that I can see, to manage playlists
with Media Center. I would like to easily add tracks to playlists while they
are playing in Media Center and that doesn't appear to be possible. Also
it's not easy to delete tracks and their associated files while playing them
in Media Center. I must drill down to the album and the track before I can
delete the track. It would be nice if there was an easy way to delete the
track or add it to a playlist while the track is playing.
