Hello there

I recently wanted to do a back-up and, when asked whether I wanted to
compress the harddisc (can't even remember how I got there), clicked YES.
That was when the problems started. All of a sudden I got a message that
files were being replaced with non-original ones and that I shoudl insert the
programme disc. But my laptop came with XP installed. Is there any way that I
can repair the OS? I can still use the laptop for most things but some
programmes won't work properly and it is generally a nuisance.

Thanks
