When clicking on Start, the "All Programs" selection is not there. Where did
it go, and how do I restore it? To open a program, I now must go through My
Computer to open it.

Start Menu 'All Programs' is empty or nothing happens when you click the
menu

I cannot click on "All Programs" because the words "All Programs" are not
showing showing on my Start Menu.

But did you try the fix on the page that S.Sengupta suggested?

BTW, are you running the XP or Vista Media Center?

James,

Yes, I did what S. Sengupta suggested. I don't think I'm being clear. When
clicking Start, one normally sees the words 'all programs' in the left pane.
I don't see those words. I just see the 3 or 4 programs that I've pinned to
the start menu.

I have XP

I understood what the problem is, I was just wondering if you had tried the
fixes on that page as they have to do with the Start menu defaults and may
have fix your problem as well.

Try this -- point to Start button, then right-click and choose "Properties"

There is a Start Menu tab, click that and change the style to "Classic"

Click OK.

The next time you click on the Start button, you should have the Windows
95/98/2000 style menu, does the "Programs" choice appear there?

If so, try changing it back and see if you now have "All Programs"

Switching to classic mode did the trick, James! Thanks for your help. I tried
that before, but but it didn't work. Oh well, problem solved!
