I've been getting the message "Media Center Host Module has encountered a
problem and needs to close" for three weeks. Media Center will not function.
Unable to find a solution.

I am getting the same message. I installed SP3. I double click on the green
MCE button and nothing happens. I tried to restore to an earlier date and it
still does not work. I don't use it that often so I can't say SP3 is the
cause. MCE XP 2004

I recently got the same error message, and I got it BEFORE I downloaded
service pack 3. I had this problem in the past also, i've reinstalled my
operating (files & software) system many times. this time it's been about 6
months since my last rebuild and no error messages !! and all of a sudden now
I recieve that ehRec.exe and also media center host module needs to close. I
have an HP media center 04' . I think I remember that when windows asks you
if you would like to send info. that pop up message .choose to do so cause if
I remember right that between the 3 rd or 5 th. time of doing so. you will be
sent a link to a fix. that mind you I think I remember that it didn't fix the
problem in the long run . it just fixed the problem for a few days and then
the error messages popped back up. I'm going to search microsoft for a
solution though.
