Hi,

Since about the middle of last week I have been getting a pop-up the
windows, Media Center Store Manager Update has stopped Working. Windows is
checking for a solution. Also when I try to run Media Center it runs for 15
to 30 seconds and then I get pop-up saying Windows Media center has stopped
Working. Window is checking for a solution. Have received no solution to
either.
My OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Carol

I have the EXACT same problem. It was working fine last week. I have
not been able to isolate the cause yet.

I also have the same problem. My OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit. I
have an HP laptop - with all the updates to drivers and the October
cumulative MCE updates. Everything was working fine until I tried to
start the Media Center this morning. I have tried some suggestions I
have read on the Internet including restoring the system back from 5
days ago. PLEASE help as I am in Mexico and the Media Center is the
only way I can get tv news.

Thanks - John Calypso

Hi,
Found a fix that worked for me. Click Start orb and type in search box
c:\ProgramData\microsoft\ehome Delete this folder. It will go to the
recycle bin.
Right click Window Media Center and run as administrator. Sounds strange I
know, but it really did work and media center is now working.

Dear "Nameless"
This folder is in my Windows folder - do not have a ProgramData folder? But,
it is over 150 mb and seems to contain ALL the Media Center files - my
computer doesn't want to let me DELETE all those folders and files. There
seems to be a conflict with some software.

I get this report:

No, NOT that folder. Do an advance search for c:\ProgramData\microsoft\ehome
and check 'include non-indexed, hidden, and system files'. The file should
appear as ehome and location should show c:\ProgramData\microsoft

Unfortunately, this does not work for me. When I start MC, it goes to the
initial screen offering express setup, custom setup, or skip setup. If I
choose either setup option, it crashes immediately. If I choose setup later
and go to setup through the main MC menu, it crashes. Help!
