Everytime I open Media Center, I get the following message:

ehshell.exe - Common Language Routine Debugging Service
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0xf50(3920), Threadid=0x5a4(1444)
Click OK to terminate application.
Click CANCEL to debug application.

I click CANCEL and get the following message:

ehshel.exe - No debugger found
Registerd JIT debugger is not available. An attempt to launch JIT debugger
with following command resulted in error code of 0x2 (2).
Please check settings.

cordbg.exe ! a 0xf50

Someone please help me. I have done the required updates for the Windows XP
Media Center 2005. I am truly stuck and don't know what to do.

I get a similar ehshell.exe message;
ehshell.exe - Common Language Routine Debugging Service
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
process id=0x1008(4104), Thread id=0x8ac(2220).

I tried the stuff suggested at myfixes.com by to no avail. Any other ideas?
Or is this id descriptive? I use a Hauppauge WinTV 88x. Hybrid.

Cheers,
Evan Gyde

I tried everything on the site but it did not work. Looks like I might have
to use the hp reboot disk, but that will remove everything I have on the C
drive. I was trying to find another way around it. But thank you.

HP system recovery has 2 modes, Standard and Destructive. Standard mode does
not wipe the drive or partitions but Destructive mode does. Read the system
recovery instructions carefully and you should be Okay.
