I have completely lost Windows explorer - it is nowhere to be found on my
computer. It is what I use most often to search for and organize files and
folders. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, and can't really connect
it to any other event - I haven't really had any other "suspicious" events
recently. Is there a download for just Windows Explorer? My Windows was
factory installed, so I don't have an original disk.
Thanks for any help!

Are you saying that if you right click on the start symbol you do not get an
Explore option?
What happens if you go to Run and type in Explorer.exe?
