I watch tv on my computer on the media center quite frequently with digital
cable. The live TV is black with only the name of the show that should be
playing. It was giving me a video error until I took out and put back in my
video card and tuner card(???). I'm stuck and can't get it working, any
ideas?

I would go the manufacturer of the Video card and see if there are any later
drivers.
Do the same for your Tuner card, just be sure it is a MCE driver.

The video error is probably referring to a problem with your TV tuner/video
capture card and not referring to a problem with your graphics/video output
card.
Are you running MCE 2005 or Vista?
What make/model of tuner card do you have and how is it configured?
Do you have any problems playing DVDs in Media Center?

I have MCE 2005 and my DVD's and the previously recorded shows play fine. My
windows device manager, under sound, video, and game controllers shows a
Conexant 23880 Video Capture (Blackbird NTSC Dual-Input)
Conexant 2388x Crossbar Dual Input
Conexant 2388x MPEG Encoder(Dual Input)
Conexant 2388x Tuner (Phillips 1236 MK3)
I've tried updating all of these and some and thy are all enabled. I've
made no progress since the first post I entered.

I just encountered the same problem on my Hp 380. Same video card. I too
have all video and sound except for live TV or FM Radio. I verified the
input is good by plugging into a TV set. My fear is that a recent cable
outage or thunderstorm since I last used this feature may have taken out the
tuner. Are you still trying to solve your problem or did you get it fixed?
