After many months of WMC working OK., I can no longer open live tV. Clicking
on the Icon and nothing happens. When I go back through setup the tuner is
recognized and it allows me to select cable. Also the guide will not
download and when it fails it gives error code 13. Obviously I am connected
to the internet with a valid connection so a look up on error code 13 was not
helpful. Any suggestions on a fix. my recent attemp to update all drivers
using MS WU and install sp1 did not solve this problem. All other funtions
of media center are fine. for example I can use on-line media and play
previously recorded TV

I'd try deleting the old guide and setting it up again.

Go to Control Panel, admin, Services and find the Ehsched service - stop the
service.

Go to the ehome., epg folder. I think it is somewhere like Docs & settings,
all users, applications settings, Microsoft, ehome de-dah-di-dah. Rename the
epg folder.

Reboot.

You could now try downloading the guide again - or setting up your TV and
guide from scratch.

Not sure - but it may work. Good luck.

I do not have permission to rename or delete the folder even though I am the
Admin of this computer. I have seen some other weird file access problems.
For example Firefox was the default browser for some time. Then it could not
be accessed. Then once reinstalled it would work. Then reboot the computer
and the executable file is not accessible. So I will dig into this and see
were it leads. Any suggestions appreciated. (weird Firefox 3.0b5 has no
problem)

The main reason I find for not being able to rename the folder is if the
EHSCHED service is still running. You must stop this service before you try
to rename the folder.
