    - Another Restricted Content? I need help Please I have MC2005 w/xbox 360 extender If I record a show I can playback on MC PC however when I try to playback on xbox extender I get the dreaded Restricted Content The video playback device does not support playback of restricted content I have tried to follow Jason Tsang's instructions from another thread dated 3/26/06 however everytime I try to delete all files within the drm folder it states another person or program is useing it. I have tried to kill every process & program however same issue any suggestions. Also it will not allow me to delete the cache folder under drm either.     - Video codec's dont vork Up until just a couple weeks ago my video woked fine on my laptop, but now whenever i play something either locally or streaming, the video wont play. WMP doesn't work, WMC doesn't work, Winamp doesnt work, neither does Real Player. I downloaded ffdshow to make sure i had all up to date codec's but it still doesnt work.     - My Films Regarding media centre. When listing all of my films I get these annoying film stills instead of the film title. Is there a way of turning this off or listing my films without the clips? I have several films stored on a hard drive and it is quite difficult to know which is the one I want to watch.     - XP vs. Vista based on sales I just saw an article about the urge to keep XP and not switch to a Vista-only world. One point made is that people are buying Vista more than XP. My question is about that validity of this statement. Last time I went shopping for a computer, I noticed it is hard to buy a computer from a store without Vista. More people may be buying Vista because that is what they are sold. It may have nothing to do with preference. I have XP because I made sure I the system came with it. My girlfriend and mother have Vista because it was the only option they had. Do not use the fact that we buy Visat since it is our only option at times with trying to say we enjoy Vista.     - No 5.1 in MCE TV? I have Vista 32 Ultimate and a set of 5.1 surround headphones , I also have an ASUS Xonar D2 sound card. In my Vista MC settings I can set up 5.1 speakers and the headphones set up fine , I hear ALL speakers. BUT , in TV settings there is only Stereo and SAP , when i select Stereo it only plays through the side speakers properly the center , surround and bass are very faint. ALL the settings in both my sound cards CP and the Vista Sound CP are set correctly and I get 5.1 in games DVDs.     - Windows XP MCE 2005 and 2002 disc count?? I think I'm in the right area for this. I have just recently snagged a couple boxes of old hardware and computer discs from a friend who switched right on to Vista. Paid a couple hundred dollars for all the stuff, and one of the things that caught my eye was MCE 2005 disks. There is a booklet, with a key, and 2 discs. I went through the booklet, seemed to be a generic, for all XP system discs... and it said nothing about the disk count. There have been a few websites that have used the number 3 or 2...so...which is it. I have another box to open, but he's a pretty organized guy. I see only 2 discs, labeled as disc 1 and disc 2. Is this all I need if I plan to reinstall XP with these? If I have to buy them I will, but I've already dumped money into this and would hate to send away for the 2005 cds and find there are only 2...so... Any ideas?     - OneCare flashes expiration date on startup of Media Center via Ext This is a new phenomenon for me. Now whenever I startup an an extender session of Media Center 2005 XP , I see OneCare open full screen on my TV and declare that I have so many months left before it expires along with other information. I believe it is the spash screen that is seen when I open OneCare manually (status screen). This is annoying because it takes over the Media Center menu while it displays this information (sometimes for around 5 or 10 seconds before dissappearing). Is there a setting that will stop this from happening. I also notice that when I run Media Center directly from my PC I do NOT see this same behavior. Only with my LinkSys Extender connection.     - Constant update notices, won't stop! Every time I try to turn off my pc, it keeps telling me it is going to update my pc, but then I get a notice that some Net. framework 2.0 can't be installed. I have tried everything to get rid of this, but don't know how. Is anyone else having this problem? I never had a problem with updates before.     - USB Cell Modem Balky I just acquired a usb wireless modem to connect to the Internet via the cellular network here in Italy. It almost works. The software, including the driver, installs. The connection software makes a successful connection, even at high speed (HSDPA) but it's a connection that is not visible to programs seeking to go online: there is no transfer of data. I managed to work around this by creating a separate connection in Dial-Up Networking or by using the service provider's generic connection software. Now the connection succeeds but at a certain point â?? it could be two minutes, it could be 40 â?? the exchange of data stops. The connection is not lost â?? it's just a connection that is not functioning. I spent a lot of time with technicians from the provider and the manufacturer who denied any responsibility for the condition â?? until the manufacturer (Onda, an Italian firm that puts its brand on a product made in China, of course. I can't figure out whose design it is. It's a pen drive format, the model number is MT505UP) disclosed in a P.S. that the product is not certified for XP Media Center Edition. Now, what I'd like to know for a start is, what is so peculiar about Media Center that poses a problem for the designers of drivers and software? I thought it was just a minor embellishment of XP Professional. If it is known what this peculiarity is, can't someone at Microsoft help these befuddled designers to adapt their software to the system? Short of that, is there any way to change the configuration of Media Center or the services enabled or disabled to facilitate coexistence with the modem? I realize this is an obscure problem â?? but that's why I'm turning to this forum, in the hope that someone out there can put me on the road to solving it. Thanks. Tried to open Live TV but error is: ehshell.exe-Common Language Runtime Debugging Services Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. process id=0xe28 (3624), Thread id=0xe2c (3628) Click OK to terminate program Click Cancel to debug. Going to settings>TV displays message that tuner hardware is malfunctioning or not installed. Media Center was working fine before I installed XP SP3.     - Program view Hi. A lot of my tv programmes in the tv programme view does not have any informations - why is it so? On different models of vhs machines you can put in a code so that the vhs machine starts and stops along with the tv-program. Is this function also inside mediacenter - if yes: where?     - CD-R/DVD drive suddenly gives no disc error for any 'blank' CD-R I have been using Nero Burning software since 4 years now to backup data onto CD-Rs on my laptop. I remember uninstalling NTI CD/DVD maker (which was factory supplied) using the Add/Remove utility last week, as my computer was running too slow. Now when I tried to do my weekly backup, Nero says that the CD-R drive is empty. Windows shows a "Please insert a disk into drive" error as well. I did the following in my attempt to resolve the issue, however the error persists: - confirmed that the disc is spinning in the tray - ensured the driver is working properly (via device manager) - ensured that drive letter assignment is set to a letter other than C - cold started the computer - wiped the lens with a swab & alcohol - switched the CD-R discs with a higher quality make - downloaded and installed CDBurnerXP (error shown: No Media) - deleted registry entries for UpperFilters and LowerFilters using 'Guided Help' provided here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 Please note that the drive can successfully read all CDs / previously burned CD-Rs / & DVDs except for 'blank' CD-Rs. When a blank CD-R is inserted, the drive also takes a much longer time with the usual humming. I have an online business that uploads video to my business site. As of this
past Monday, each time I go through the upload process and get to the FTP
box, when I click browse and select my video for upload I receive the
following message:

The Program["C:\ProgramFiles\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"] caused a
problem and is going to close. Would you like to save a dump file?

When I select no to save the dump file my Internet shuts down.

I am running Internet Explorer 7 with Java 6 update 6.

I know there has to be an issue with my computer settings because a partner
was able to upload video on his computer without a problem.

Does anyone have any advice, I have been working on trying to correct this
issue for 3 straight days.

Have you tried resetting Internet Explorer to it default settings?

In IE7, Tools > Internet Options, on the Advanced tab at the bottom of the
window, Reset Internet Explorer Settings. Press the Reset button.

Also on the Security tab a button labeled "Reset all zones to default level"

If you had any custom setting, you will have to re-do the custom settings.
