Hello all,
Anyone know how Media Center is going to work with digital? Will I need a
different tuner?

Yes, you will need an HDTV tuner, or you may be able to get away with one of
the down-coverter boxes that will be available.

Unless you are using an antenna to receive analog you do not have to change
anything since analog will still be available over cable.
If using an antenna to receive analog with MC then you will need a digital
(HDTV) tuner card to receive OTA SD or HD digital.

It's bad info like this that is confusing everyone. First, HD and digital
are 2 different things, the 2009 conversion has nothing to do with HD, it is
a conversion to digital. Second, only people using OTA (rabbit ears, roof
antenna, etc) will need to worry about the 2009 conversion, it doesn't
affect cable or satellite TV users.

While that is all true, I think Doug was assuming the OP used OTA and that
was why the question was asked. Also, if you do want to receive Digital
directly, you will end up buying an HDTV tuner card, the card will receive
an type of digital signal (standard or high-def), it doesn't really care,
it's just a stream of data.

What is more confusing to people is output end, there are many who think
they have to junk there TV and buy new expensive HDTV by early next year.

With something that is as confusing as this (2009 conversion) to the general
public, and with all the misinformation floating around, assuming can cause
problems, I saw nothing in the OP's post that indicated his reception
method, so it's a wise idea to provide complete info rather than just
assuming one method is being used over another, for all we know the guy is
using cable and may now run out to buy a converter box he doesn't need.
