I just recently upgraded my desktop from Windows XP Media Center Edition to
Vista Ultimate. Before the upgrade, I was able to access the media center
via the Media Center function on my XBox 360 (both the desktop and the 360
are physically wired to my network).
Since the upgrade, however, I have not been able to set up my 360 in vista
ultimate as an extender.
When I try to set up, I get a generic error message. I have gone into the
event viewer and notice that the error was caused by the 'Windows Media
Center Extender Service' not running.
I've gone into the services area, and tried to start the Windows Media
Center Extender Service, but keep getting an error message saying that it
cannot start. I double clicked on this service and viewed the dependent
services.
One of the services, PnP-X IP Bus Enumerator is NOT running. When I go to
try to start this service, the system tells me that it started and then
immediately stopped.
Any suggestions on why the desktop would keep stopping the PnP-X IP Bus
Enumerator service? I'm assuming that this is my problem, but nothing seems
to work. (I've verified that all of the dependent services for this service
are running).
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
