I have MC2005 w/xbox 360 extender
If I record a show I can playback on MC PC however when I try to playback on
xbox extender I get the dreaded
Restricted Content The video playback device does not support playback of
restricted content
I have tried to follow Jason Tsang's instructions from another thread dated
3/26/06 however everytime I try to delete all files within the drm folder it
states another person or program is useing it. I have tried to kill every
process & program however same issue any suggestions. Also it will not allow
me to delete the cache folder under drm either.
I have never had a problem and has worked flawlessly since xmas when we got
the xbox but I do believe this is a drm issue

Deleting your DRM store would prevent you from playing back the protected
content.

There was a fix that has been released that should fixed the DRM issues
without causing you to lose the ability to playback protected content.

New hotfix available to fix protected content playback errors in Update
Rollup 2 for Media Center 2005

Now that you have deleted your DRM store, do new recordings that are copy
protected work (not your old ones, but only ones recorded after deleting
your DRM store)?

Hey Jason, I found what was running and interfering with deleting files, once
I did that I followed the rest of the directions from your previous thread
that I referred to earlier and I am back up & running. I also applied the new
hotfix that you stated to install below. As always Thank You for your quick
and accurate response.
