That's fine, but whenever anyone says that, my concern is that he
doesn't have in place a program of regular backups to external media.
If you don't, you're kidding yourself by thinking your data is safe
just because it's in a separate partition. If you care about your
data, backup is required.

No, I didn't say that. I pointed out there *are* third-party solutions
to your problem, and I even mentioned two.

It's much easier to use a third-party repartitioning program.
