My performance monitor shows the Avg. Disk Queue at the top and pages/sec
and %processor at normal. Are there any utilities, MS or 3rd party that can
display how heavy of a load each application or service is putting on the
hard disk?

Yes, it's called Process Explorer. (Link:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx ) If you
want an overview you have to add the I/O History to the view. Go to
View | Select Columns | Process Performance then check the "I/O
History" check box. Try that!

I downloaded Proccess Monitor, by following the link you provided, but I'm
not seeing a "View" menu. I've found "Select Columns" under the options
menu, but there isn't any option for Process Performance or anywhere to
enable I/O stats.

I found Process Explorer on Microsoft's Website and I see now what you are
talking about. This program is excellent!
Thanks for your help.
