    - Outlook Express Help I have three accounts in Win XP Pro, two accounts can send and recieve emails. All three are on the same server. One account says it can not send and here's the error message: "unknown error: SMTP: Port 0 Secure (SSL) 0x800C012F" The port is set to 25 which is what is should be since the other two are using the same port.     - OE6 Contact Folder Missing Hello I wanted to organize, and take the hundreds of contacts, and group them into folders. Than I wanted to take the 'corporate' folder and share (export) to the office workers. However, in Contact >New I can create 'New Contact' and 'New Group' -but there is no choice for 'New Folder'. It is missing. And I did notice on my co-workers machine the 'Shared' function in Contacts. That feature is also missing. Thus what I have is no folder in contacts; just hundreds of contacts in one bulk area. Top tier, so to speak. If there is a method to fix, to correct, this problem please let me know.     - OE missing arrows I have windox xp home edition with all updates and am using Outlook Express 6 Up until fairly recently when I forwarded or replied to an email an arrow would show up on the emails in the inbox (denoting it had either been forwarded or replied to) they were different colours and going in different directions but I can't remember for sure now. This made it easy for me to see if I had forwarded or replied to various messages (and those I hadn't). For some reason these arrows do not show up anymore.     - Multiple copies sent; outbox still holds message; sent folder empty My father is running the latest version of Outlook Express along with Win XP SP3. Sometime since yesterday his copy of OE has decided to start sending outgoing messages without notifying itself that it's done so.... so the outgoing message remains in the outbox. My father sees that, thinks it hasn't sent and clicks send again. I get the messages every time... over and over again, depending on how many times he hits send. I manually deleted the messages (courtesy of PCAnywhere). I even deleted the outbox.dbx file so OE could recreate it. Nothing has worked. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? As an aside, my father happened to mention rebooting during a compacting session yesterday... he didn't think anything was happening outside of his computer had become unresponsive to his inputs.     - Outlook Express 6 Hi There, I think my question probably has a very simple answer but not being brilliant on computers I'm frustrated by not knowing what it is! I've had problems with OE freezing and not responding when I first open it up. I had to open and close several times before it would operate okay. I checked what the problem might be and was told to update Microsoft Windows which I did this morning. It then closed down and started up again. When it did so my Outlook Express icon was on my desktop but when I clicked on it, it disappeared, although it did still open it up. I've looked on my list in Startup where regularly used icons are since I had Outlook Express there too - but that's also gone.     - Incoming Blocked Messages My computer is A - my neighbor's is B. B is using Comcast as her ISP. A (me) is using Verizon.     - Not your normal "can't send mail" help request Hi Guys---This one has beaten me. A friend gave me her PC to "sort out" . She never had an ISP so I registered for one---no problem here using dial up account via modem. After setting up OE mail accounts I did a test send/receive. The receive was ok but it would not send mail giving me the usual port 25 smtp message "SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10051, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E." I know this ISP well and it DOES NOT block port 25. I used the ISP's correct smtp server settings. I can ping the server. I even set up this account on my own two PCs' and sent mail ok. I set up some other mail accounts that I have and all of these recieved but would not send when connected to the correct ISP's Having Googled for an hour or so I decided to try a different approach. By the way I removed all AV and AS and stopped the firewall (Windows XP Pro used). I removed the hard drive and put in a blank formatted one then installed XP Pro on it. Once up and running I opened up OE and set up the connections and mail accounts and tried again to send mail. SAME problem can receive but not send through any ISP connections. So, the only common thing is the hardware such as MOBO etc. I installed a port reader and watched the events when trying to send the e mail and the port 25 was opened and smtp server contacted. NETSTAT also verified that port 25 had "sync sent". Any one out there with any ideas where to look or what could possibly be wrong before I install a new MOBO. I am trying to force the reply to all Outlook messages in HTML. The
only software that does this, that I have found, is Bells and
Whistles. Bells and Whistles has problems and stopped working after a
year. There must be another similar app out there. Anyone know of one?

And do you think that people who send you emails in plain text will welcome
your arrogant change to HTML?
