Hi,
any way we can get Outlook Express to play a selected oiece of audio
(perhaps a bar or two of a favouritesong) when new mail arrives - instead of
the defauly windows selection of bins and bongs?

It can play any .wav file you have. Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices
| Sounds. Scroll down to New Mail Notification and then browse to your .wav
file.
