On my friend's computer, in OE, the menu bar has vanished. I mean the File,
Edit, Tools, Message, Help menu bar, not the Tools bar or similar.

There doesn't seem to be an option for this, and pressing ALT doesn't seem
to make any menu options appear.

My friend is not particularly computer savvy and I'm not able to go to his
house to fiddle or reinstall OE. Is there a relatively painless way to fix
this?

I'm positive he's had this problem before, and it was solved, but I can't
for the life of me think how we did it.

Many thanks in advance,

Jono C.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old
identity and delete it.

Bruce, I've realised, since the File menu has disappeared, I can't change the
identities to test this solution.

Please include all previous messages in your replies. It makes things much
easier for us to follow. Thank you.

I thought from your previous post that it was solved.

Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree. At top right of the
window that appears is an Identities option with a drop-down arrow. You can
do it from there.
