How to solve the Simpified Chinese Fonts Problem?
Under Traditional Chinese XP, I face with the problem on displaying Simpified
Chinese Fonts? Do anyone have any suggestions on how to solve it? Is there
missing fonts causing this problem?

Outlook Express doesn't send or receive
When I first boot up my computer, my OE works fine when I click on
Send/Recv, and then at some point later(and I haven't been able to determine
if there is something specific I'm doing to cause this), when I click on
Send/Receive nothing happens. If I reboot the computer, it works again and
then after a while, the same issue.
Any suggestions?

OE - Compress Folders after SP3
Since I installed SP-3, OE is continually asking to compress folders,
several times a day in fact. Even though I do compress them, when asked, it
prompts me within a couple of hours to do it again.
Anyone else getting this?
How do I stop it from happening?

Simplifed Chinese Fonts problem in OutLook Express?
Does anyone have any suggestions on Simplifed Chinese Fonts in Outlook Express?
When I receive an email, some character displays numbers instead of text,
but when I save this email as HTML and open it, the numbers become text under
Tradition Chinese XP.
Does anyone have any suggestions why the simplifed chinese text become
numbers under Outlook Express?

Had a power failure. Since then I have 5 emails in my inbox I cant do
anything with.Everything else works fine.I cant delete. open move or anything
these 5. When I try to open any of these my cpu goes to 100 % and I have to
end task to get away from them. I cant delete even a bunch below and above
and include these, bang!locks up back to end task. I have tried compacting. I
can send mail, receive and everything as long as I stay away from these 5
emails. And they were forwared from my brother to me and he has no problems
so I dont thing it is content of emails. I would appreciate any help.

Not saving password
Using Outlook Express 6 on WinXP Pro. Password on POP acct not being saved.
Have read many threads and found Knowledge Base article on the problem. I
have tried all of the options and all fail. The option to delete key from
register doesn't work. When I try to delete the key I get a message that
delete failed because of....some words which I currently forget. If its
important let me know.

Need to restore PST from a backup -- Where do I put it ?
I recently restored an image of a HD and without OE 6 setup on it, another
group setup OE6 on it and now I need to put the CONTACTS back in Outlook
Express. I have found the PST file on the old backup of the pc but don't
know how to use it recover the contacts. When I look on the pc I don't find
a PST file on it. The pc has XP Pro. Can someone tell me how to get the

Lost Group Addresses - Can I get them back ?
I've really done it this time.............
I was cleaning up my Outlook Express and
accidentally deleted
my sub-group addresses where I kept them filed by
type. I
didn't even realize I did it until I opened OE
again and they
were gone.
I got a new cell phone which has PDA-Sync on it
and in trying
to bring across my contacts from Outlook Express,
but it brought
those "lost" contacts. Where can I find those
lost group addresses
and restore them so I can back them up and then
try bring the
1st level contacts that I want on the cell phone.

Paper-clip symbol in Inbox, but no attachment
Whenever I receive an HTML email in my Inbox it has the Paper-clip symbol in
the Inbox listing even if the HTML email has no attachment.
What could be causing this?

Sending email in Outlook Express
I use XP Home and Outlook Express 6. Was with freeserve and segued thru to
Orange. Recently problems started with email and I was advised to change my
serveres from freeserve to orangehome. However, since then, outgoing mail has
been a problem, only working occasionally. Incoming is fine all the time. I
read in a discussion forum that changing the port number in advanced
properties might help, but I do not know what to. Orange are not much help -
they just tell me to re-install OE. Can anyone advise, please?

For example, enquiry@abc.com, @abc.com is my domain name, receiving email
uses POP3, and sending email uses SMTP, can any unknown sender send any
out-going email under John@abc.com without getting any authority from the
source abc.com? If they can successfully send out email, do they access my
SMTP illegally?

Mails not appearing
I often get mails which appear to download, but
do not appear in the inbox. The download bar appears and says e.g.
downloading message 1 of 1, but the mail does not appear.
I have no rules set. This is driving me mad as I am not receiving
numerous messages sent to me. I'm not sure if it is a problem with
Outlook or my provider. Anybody else had this problem?

I have been using Outlook Express 6 for sometime . This morning its
done something that it hasnt before ......... Have some 5 mail folders
that it wont open . None have many messages it them .
Re booting the computer or manually compacting mail folders made no
