    - Spacing - eBay I have been trying to list an item for sale in eBay. I have done this several times but now, in their box where I type in the description of my item, I get double spacing and not the usual single spacing. I have done the e mail and live chat thing with eBay and their answer is that this might be a JavaScript issue and that I should change my browser to FireFox. I think this is ridiculous.     - localhost:8080 does not display Hello Group, I installed my tomcat apacke web server on windows xp professional. When I type localhost:8080 in my Firefox browser on the same machine I am able to see the default tomcat page, which certiies that my tomcat is working fine and port 8080 is working for web server. However, if I type the same on same machine localhost:8080 it first gave me server can not be contacted and when I removed my setting for localhost\\8080, it now gives 404 error, <description: The requested resource is not available> Can someone tell me settings which I need to make or IE is not the trusted browser for tomcat server? Dear experts, I need to specify a high contrast style of vertical and horizontal scrollbars in IE windows, or, at least, lock the style of the scrollbars so that the web sites could not override it. This is needed for acessibility. Some sites have very strange color of the scrollbars, such as light gray on white, or light blue on light gray.     - Favourites are not in alphabetic order with "Add to favourites" This is a different problem from the simple question how to show favourites alphabetically for looking them up. in my PC folders and links are nicely ordered when I use the menu "organize favourites" or just look up an existing link. But for some reason (I guess I once backed up my favourites by simply copying the folder and then copied this folder back) my favourites do not show in alphabetical when I want to add a new link. This means it is hard to find the right folder where to save the new link. There does not seem to be any way to change this. I tried to use the "export favourites" function, then erased all sub folders in the "fabourites" folder and re-imported the exported favourites from the created file "bookmark.html, hoping that they would get sorted during the importation, but they appear again in the same disorder as before.     - Help! IE won't work with new NIC Hi all, I have an IE6 problem with a work-provided laptop (which means I have limited ability to mess with it). The laptop is running XP Pro SP2 and has both an internal 802.11b NIC and a Netgear Super-G PCMCIA card that I generally prefer to use. So here's the problem: about a week ago, my Netgear card died and had to be replaced. I replaced it with a new Netgear card, but IE refuses to work with the new card *unless* the business VPN is active (which routes all traffic through my office network and is overkill when I'm at home and just want to look at something). All my other network apps work normally (Outlook email, ping, nslookup, ftp) with or without the VPN active. IE (and everything else) works fine with the slow internal NIC regardless of the VPN being active. It seems like IE is somehow locked into using the VPN when using the Netgear connection, but I cannot find any IE settings that are different between using the Netgear card and using the internal NIC. More to the point, IE *used* to work with the old Netgear card and all I did was replace it with a different one. I have googled for similar problems and tried all the suggested remedies: checking proxy settings, flushing DNS, checking host files, etc. with no luck. Is there some setting hidden in the registry that might tie IE to a particular device? I am totally perplexed by this problem. Any thoughts or suggestions? When I log into that machine with admin rights, IE behaves as expected (normally). Hi, when I had IE6 the method outlined below worked perfectly to backup the Favorites sort order (to make it clear, I'm not referring to backing up the Favorites which can be done from within IE using File/Import-Export, I'm referring to being able to back them up so I can later restore them in the EXACT same custom sort order as originally, so I don't have to manually drag hundreds of bookmarks to the order in which they were originally). [i]Sort order is not preserved when you transfer favorites to another PC If you use the Import/Export Wizard or manually copy the URL favorites to another system, the sort order will not be copied to the target system. This is because Windows stores the sort order in the registry. Neither the Import/Export Wizard or manual copy operation will reference the sort order registry key. In order to have the sort order applied to the other PC, export the following registry from the source PC: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Favorites Save the above key as a REG file and apply this in the other computer.     - Tkrouble with Search Engine I am running I.E. 6. When I open IE, I can get my home page and open any sites from my favorites. I can type in a search when I initially open IE, but if I access anything on any site that I have opened, I then cannot do another search without shutting down IE. I can then start over.     - Proxy settings for IE 6 - 2 shortcuts needed Hi, I have a work laptop which I use at work and at home via VPN. While connected to my corporate network i need the connections>LAN Settings>Proxy settings box checked. I understand I can set unique settings for my VPN at home when wanting to connect to work, however this means when at work and using my direct connection, I have to add my proxy settings to my normal internet startup. What i want to do is have two separate iexplorer links on my desktop, one with my proxy settings set, and one without (for when im at home using the internet not connected via VPN). Can this be done?     - Links slow to open or don't open at all... I've got a Win2k box running IE 6 that has started giving me problems. Alot of times when I click on links on a page like Yahoo or MSN, it will show the title/path to the link along the botttom of the screen & eventually say 'done', but will still be on the original page. Same with google - it will show the info at the bottom & just hang there. XP box running IE 7 works just fine, though. I have tried re-installing IE 6, running SFC, reset IE to default settings, re-installing/updating Java & nothing has changed. Any suggestions?     - IE & Language Issue that I have not found I have installed the Chinese language pack and that was ok but even though I have the keyboard set as English I get popups (legitimate) in Chinese. As I have no idea how to read them I am quite frustrated. I also installed Hebrew but it does not do any of those things. Does anyone know how to make it stop? My first choice OR How do I change the language to English if a popup does appear in Chinese? Oh, this can happen to one popup screen when the previous screen came up in English. Also I have done as recommended in other language questions just in case it helps. T thought the language packs only allowed the various fonts to be used not to take over on their own.     - IE6 MULTIPLE WINDOWS OPENING Friend of mine has WIN XP and IE6.0 When opening a web page in the address line at the top of IE, the page opens with multiple pages of the same. eg www.google.co.uk produces page after page of the same screen and carries on doing so. I thought it was you press F12 from the minute you turn your computer on and
it loads the restore screen, but that isnt woring for me and I don have the
disks... Is it a different F button??

Hi,
I've had pretty good luck with the HP website. Start at
http://www.hp.com/#Support and work through the selection process to get to
your specific model. I would then search on "recover, "recovery" and
"restore."
