Uninstall IE 6.0

How do I safely, easily, and thoroughly uninstall IE 6.0
and reinstall it on a PC where it is not currently
working? I got hit with a VDO Live memory virus and after
running Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, HJT, deleting the six bad
files, and reloading W98se, I have not internet
connectivity. I read elsewhere that uninstalling IE was a
problem.

You can not uninstall Internet Explorer. It is an integral part of Windows.
Check your internet setting to make sure all the information is correct.

try this to repair IE, click

Start > Run

then enter exactly (case/space-sensitive) (copy/paste it in)

rundll32.exe setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance

this will give you the IE Repair dialog... proceed to repair IE and see if
this helps.

also:
Try repairing the Winsock connection. Paste this link
into your windows explorer if IE doesn't work and look at
the tools listed at the very bottom of the page:
