I am having troubles with my browser. My computer (laptop) is connected to
my wireless connection, but Internet Explorer will not browse.
I have contacted my DSL server, and it was proven to not be their problem.
I have contacted Dell, and they ran all tests and found that it is not a
hardware problem and they referred me to Microsoft.
I have contacted Microsoft, and after their tests, they told me that they
cannot do anything because the software version is "OEM".
What can I do to regain my browsing capabilities on my laptop computer that
is clearly connected??

First... (and quite offhand)

RTFM that came with your wireless router. This is probably a protected access
issue and the PC needs to chat with the router. Just because it sees the signal,
doesn't mean that it has access.

I can't imagine that none of those tech people refered you to your router mfgr..
There should be complete instructions on the web site or in the manual. I'd
at least access the router and shut down the protected access and try again.
Also, if you have a LAN port on the laptop, bypass the router and plug it in
directly to check for basic connectivity. Clear the cache, etc. before
re-opening the browser to do this.

Hi,
Windows XP? XP SP2?

Turn on the Windows Firewall from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and
disable any third-party firewall or security suite. See if a third-party
security program is causing the problam.

Windows version?

If you connect directly to the router, does the behavior persist?

If you connect directly to the modem, does the behavior persist?
