Favorites problems

My uh, "friend", whacked/moved/deleted some files in the Documents &
settings User folders. This has caused my favorites in Explorer to freak
out. Most of the favorites have disappeared, a few remain. I tried to
import Favorites, but it makes no change- it's as if it is looking in the
wrong place. If I go to Organize favorites, it's the same whacked deal. If
I go to Add To Favorites; I can see the original ones I want to use (but
they aren't the ones displayed in the browser's session that you would use
to navigate). I tried re-installing, but it's looking at the prior stuff-
no change. I did a Restore, and that fixed some other issues, but the
favorite issue remains. What to do? TIA!

You can't Import unless you Exported first.
If you can see the original favorites on another folder, then copy or
move the individual favorites (not the folder itself) to the current
favorites folder.
Do this in Explorer, rather than IE.
