My address bar autopopulates with a past entry when I type new addresses that
begin with the same letter. I have cleared history, temp files, etc. but it
still has an address in the address bar. I can't seem to clear it no matter
what. Should I uninstall and reinstall IE 6.0 or is there some virus that
imbeds addresses that one cannot delete?

Have you tried IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-AutoComplete?
