One window only

Is there a way to prevent IE7 opening another window.
I use tabs exclusively, but if I open from a link in a newsreader, then a
new window opens. I would rather it didn't. A new tab would be fine.

Tools | Internet Options
Click Settings in the tabs section and click the option to open links from
other programs in a new tab.

Sorry.
I am using TrayIt! to minimise to the system tray and apparently if IE
is minimised, a new Window opens, but when maximised a new tab opens.
Sighs.
