Here's the problem, when I go to enter in a URL by either copy/paste or type
it in, I always supply the http:// and especially https:// and I have noticed
that now when I type in the full URL, Internet Explorer 7 also enters in
http:// which makes it impossible to get to a website, and it is also the
case when I need to get to a https://. I did find a fix for entering a
secure site, under Tools/Internet Options/General Tab/Languages/ and
selecting the box that says Do not add 'www' to beginning, etc. This did fix
it so I can enter in https:// and continue to the specified site, but I still
cannot manually enter a regular http://. I rather enjoy having full control,
and do NOT like automated features so please tell me how I can force IE 7 to
allow me to do something so simple as enter a full URL. TIA :-)

If I got this right, try to turn the Autocomplete OFF and the Autocomplete
Inline feature on the IE properties under each tab:
Content tab | Advanced Tab.
Hope this which you are after.

Unfortunately, no, that does not solve my issue. I did find a way to manually
enter https:// which is neatly tucked away under Tools/Internet
Options/General Tab/check box to Not enter leading 'www' etc. But, it does
not fix it to where I can manually enter in a regular http://

So, what happen when you uncheck this option and just type the
www.microsoft.com, is it still asking you to manually type the http://?.
On my browser this option not checked and I can copy and paste any URL and
it will be resolved by the browser without any effort.
Otherwise i really can't get the whole picture of what your problem is?,
about the https:// sure you must type it or you will not get the secure
socket layer to open you a secure channel to talk and access secure info on
that server, you cannot just type nass and viola you will enter the house.
You will need to knock and say your name which is the https:// and your
ID&Pass.
HTH.

Wow, also, I want to MANUALLY enter in things such as https:// and http://.
I said nothing about just typing in hello and expecting to get to
http://www.hello.com. That's pretty obvious, all I want is the functionality
to take back control and be able to once again type in a FULL URL.
