HTTP Status: 6
I am getting a message that pops up saying that there is a "HTTP Status 6
Error". I also have a message on the bottom of the page that reads, "error
on page, or page error". It seems as though it is a script error of some
kind.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks so much,

Missing favorites IE7 in Vista
I have Vista Home Premium on a new Dell PC.
I have been using IE7 for a few days, imported my favorites, and it worked OK.
Today I click on the STAR button (for favorites), and it opens an empty
window.
When I click on the STAR_PLUS button and choose "organize favorites", it
opens an empty window.
But when I click on the "add to favorites" and then I click on the "Create

Problem with US Air website shutdown
I have one laptop PC (a new Dell) that is running Windows XP Pro and IE 7.0.
When this one laptop accesses www.usairways.com and tries to search for
flights or tries to log into his account, he gets a "Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close". I am trying to determine what
is causing the problem on his laptop - his is the only one that is doing this
in my company.
My laptop (also a Dell laptop with the same software) does not have this
problem. The only difference that I can determine between the problem laptop
and my laptop is that my laptop is older and had IE 6.0 installed prior to
updating to IE 7.0. As I recall, the problem laptop came with IE 7.0
installed on it.
After several hours of software reinstallation (IE and Java), comparing IE
settings between the good laptop and the problem laptop, changing/diabling
antivirus software, changing firewall settings, I made no progress on
determining the cause of this problem. Then I decided to do one final
thing, I went under Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Internet Explorer
(No Add-ons). When I run IE with no Add-ons the usairways.com website runs
fine.
This tells me that I must have a problem with one of the add-on versions
conflicting with something on the website.
Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else got this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Live toolbar breaks <option selected>
This problem is definitely related to the "Windows Live Toolbar Helper"
(msntb.dll) but only in Vista and NOT XP. The same helper is enabled on the
XP machine and doesn't cause problems. If I disable the Addon, the <option

because I haven't been able to get confirmation that it fails on other Vista

Lost all entries in my 'Favorites' column
I seem to have lost all the entries in my 'Favorite' column, and I am not
able to enter any new entries. The only way of entering a new item is by
starting a new folder and entering the items there. Then when clicking the

Is there a way of returning to the default position whereby one can enter

When trying to open a PDF document on a secure website, There is a pop up

I have no problems generating PDF'S with the same web site, I am using MCafee

Can someone point me in the right direction. I am totally baffled, even with
addons disabled, and a process of elimination, I still get the same issue.
I have come to the conclusion at this point the problem is iether with,

Vista IE7 problems
Since I have upgraded to Vista, I have been having a problem with saving
favorites. When I go to save a page in favorites by clicking the 'plus-star'
button and then 'add to favorites', then using the dropdown list of folders,
I find there is nothing on the dropdown list.
I have to create a new folder (one of my existing folders in favorites) and
am then able to add the web page to the desired favorites folder.
This would be ok but whenever I close explorer and then return to use the
dropdown list again, there is nothing on it.
I have to add the page to the general favourites list and then drag it to
the required folder.

Error in appendChild() (JavaScript, IE7)
In some cases appendChild() changes the reference to the parent object to
reference the object returned by appendChild().
Example:
var form = document.forms['form1'];
var input = document.createElement('<INPUT name="input1">');
input.type = 'HIDDEN';
input.id = 'id1';
form.appendChild(input);
Sometimes the form variable at this point references the appended INPUT
object. I havn't figured out when this happens, the same code works as
expected in most cases.

Did Vista Break IE 7's ability to drag URL from address bar to des
This sounds like a very silly question - but I think Vista broke something
(maybe by design) or perhaps something is wrong with my installation.
When dragging a url from the address bar in the past (to the desktop for
example) it would create an internet shortcut. I could then later click
these and the web page would open, or drag and drop them back into an open IE
and the itnernet explorer would navigate to them, etc. When doing a file
properties on them, they would show as a web document of extension .url - .
After installing Vista Ultimate and using it I now see that when I do this a
url file is created - but its different and if I double click on it it does
not work - and the icon for th efile is blank -(pure white) - and it no
longer shows as a web document when I look at its properties. It did save
the title of the web page as the title of the document - but thats all. There
is nothing in the url box under details and no description or notes.
If I go to the file afterwards and click on properties and then details and
manually paste in the url into details - then the file will work when double
clicking, etc. but its still different because its not a web document.
Something seems very broken because internet explorer can not save the web
page's proper information as a internet shortcut when dragging the url from
the address bar.
Is this normal bahvior with Vista now, or is something broke? If something
is broke - do you know how to fix it?
Please help -

Actually when I am using FireFox I found an very good advantage of
opening a link from favorites in a new browser or in a new Tab by selecting
from a right click. This is an very good option because Very Day I use to
open some common links so I Keep them in a single folder in favorites, in
order to open these Ineed to click new tab and go to favorites and select the
link, Insted if you give an option to open in a new tab or new window along
with open in all in tabs it will be a good help for users.

Shockwave Flash Object - slow loading of web pages in IE7 / Vista
Vista on many web pages (mostly those with ads) has delays loading (ie

The individual web page cannot be pre-empted until it is finished (so
navigation is disabled). Other web browsers can be opened so it is not

IE7 Favorites - File date and size
I'm using IE7 on WIN XP Pro SP2. I have noticed that my favorites file dates
keep changing and in some cases the file size keeps getting larger over time.
The date seems to change each time I visit a site. There also seems to be a
lot of information (much of which is repetitive) being added to the shortcut
file by some sites. One of my shortcuts is now up to 144K bytes. Before IE7,
a typical shortcut file size was between 100 and 300 bytes and didn't change.
Can anyone explain why this is happening with IE7? How large can these
shortcuts grow to be? Is there a limit? Setting a shortcut to read-only
prevents it from changing but I don't know what issues I am creating by doing
this. Are there any? Thanks for all input.

Windows Media Player Add-In
Just recently on my Vista machine, the Windows Media Player ActiveX control

Problem with IE Favorites List in Windows Vista IE 7
Looking for some advice with an annoying problem I've encountered with
Windows Vista.
When I access my "Favorites" list while using Internet Explorer 7, when I
visit a site then click on the favorites list again, 90% of the time it
reverts back to the beginning of the alphabetized list - not where I
left off when I accessed the most recent site.
So, I'm having to scroll down the favorites list each time to get back
to where I was - working down the list alphabetically. Not the biggest
deal in the world, but annoying. On my other computers running XP and
Windows 98, the favorites list remains where it was the last time I
clicked on it when I return back to it.
I looked in every Windows Vista book at the bookstore and did not see
anything regarding a fix for this issue, nor have I found much on this on
this issue on Google or on this site.
