IE6 crashes on exit
Every time I close IE6 (or maybe almost every time) I get an error: The
instruction at 0x0442137b referenced memory at 0x0442137b. The memory could
not be read.
I have run sfc /scannow
I am fairly sure there is nothing wrong with the RAM, although I have not
run a memory checker.
I get the same message with the same memory ref even if I have multiple
copies of IE running.
Any help gratefully received, as this is getting annoying. Tag: "live Search" in IE7 Tag: 157972

moving tabs in ie 7
It would be nice if we could be able to move tabs between windows like we can
move tabs inside of a window. Also, right clicking on a tab and choosing
create new window could combine creating a new window and moving the tab to
that window.

Read Mail Button does not Work
Hi,
I have set the Read mail button onto the Command bar but it does not bring
up Windows mail.
I have also tried to set Windows mail as the default email handler from
Tools --> Options --> General --> Default Messaging Programs, but each time
I have pressed the "Make Default" button the next time I go back it still
says "This application is NOT the default mail handler"
It seems to me the two problems are connected but how do I get them fixed?

forcing IE back to a page automatically
What I am looking to do is force IE back to a page automatically after a
page not found error when I lose connecivity due to a wireless deadspot.
I know this sounds weird, but I was able to do this on an XP Prof
workstation with WSH running in the back ground.
The WSH script would launch that instance of IE and then check every x
number of seconds to make sure it was at the desired URL, if not, the script
would force it back to the correct web page. This was in done so that nework
drop outs (don't ask) could be recovered from automatically.
Now I am on Windows CE 4.20 and WSH does not seem to come with it, so I am
trying to come up with a equivalent alternative.
Any ideas?

restore IE7 browser-history & browser-history not being saved
In attempting to correct a problem of browser addresses not saving, the
number of days to save history was lowered to the point of loosing some much
needed URLs.
I would like to recover the correct history file from my backup program.
The difficulty is that I do not know which file to restore and its location
in the maze of folders NOR do I know if this might be a solution to regaining
the lost URLs.
So, in order to locate a three-week-old file backup copy, what is the actual
file path/location to my IE7 browsing-history file OR is there another way to
retrieve something from my backup that will restore the older browsing
history?
In anticipation of restoring the URLs, I have increased the number of days
to keep pages in history.
FYI, I still haven't figured out why IE7 stopped keeping track of my
browsing history.

strange input text element problem(xml included)
Hello.I have the following strange problem.
I try to put the following data inside a td(10% width).
<Value><![CDATA[rewr rew;qwr ewqr;q q;iammydel2surname
iammydel2name;Dummy;demo demo;Deleted Deleted;123 321;123 321;Deleted
Deleted;foo foo foo bar bar bar bar;]]></Value>
I get the data of the Value node, and insert it in the td.The td
grows(it's like i'm entering a big single string value).
If my xml data contains utf characters i don't have this problem.
For example
<Value><![CDATA[rewr rew;qwr ewqr;q q;iammydel2surname
iammydel2name;Dummy;demo demo;Deleted Deleted;123 321;123 321;Deleted
Deleted;foo foo foo bar bar bar bar;Βα]]></Value>
Even a single(greek in my case) character will be enough,so the td
won't grow(and hide the other td's).
I hope you understood my problem.
Thank you in advance. Tag: "live Search" in IE7 Tag: 157843

IE 7 Cascade opening at Vista Startup
Since the last service pack updat for Vista, IE7 has launched at startup 3
times with a cascading loop. This issue did not occur prior service pack.
This action occurs both on my laptop and desktop - so I believe that rules
out hardware issue.
IE7 will cascade load multiple browsers. They cannot be manually closed,
due to the popup of the next window timed between 15 and 30 seconds startup.
It consumes the processor speed and basically halts any action at the
desktop. Via the start up manager, the entire group must be selected and end
tasked. If you allow IE to restart after that, the cascade continues.
Cancel the auto-restart and then IE7 may be resumed as normal.
Any suggestion?
Reload IE7 on both systems?
Sound like an internal issue?

Opening non-HTML content in IE7
Hi there.
I'm running Windows XP SP2 with IE7. When I left-click on links to non-HTML
files in IE, there are several possible outcomes:
1) The file opens in the browser (e.g. JPEGs)
2) The file opens in a browser plugin (e.g. PDFs)
3) The file opens with its default associated program, outside of the
browser (e.g. MP3s open with Winamp)
4) A dialog box pops up asking if I want to save or open the file (e.g. RAR
archives.)
Ideally I would like all but a few file types to result in the fourth
option. (I've disabled the Adobe Reader add-on, with the result that PDFs now
open in Adobe Reader itself, which is not what I want.)
Is there an easy way of changing the settings?
Thanks in advance! Tag: "live Search" in IE7 Tag: 157827

IE7 visually looks bad in classic mode.
Dear Microsoft,
I use Internet Explorer exclusively on 3 machines, 2 Vista 1 XP, and suggest
it to all my family and friends.
Windows XP and Vista have different themes, I prefer Windows Classic,
everything Micrsoft touches looks worse and worse in classic mode, please
keep this in mind and consider making it look better in classic mode.
The toolbar back and forward buttons do not suit classic mode, as well as
several other aspects. Please hire someone who knows how to make it look
better in classic mode.
If you aren't going to make things look half decent in classic mode you may
as well remove it, and that might help you to relise how many people still
use classic mode.

IE 7 Compared to 6
Here is some constructive criticism. Go back to the IE 6 interface. With
the 7 interface it seems like I cannot customize it at all.
The stop and refresh buttons are obscure far to the right of the address bar.
The tool bar with the home print page and tools buttons canot be moved and
has to share space with the tabed web pages.
It feels very clunky and half baked.
I hope IE 8, when it comes out, is much better.
NOTE
I do love the search bar and the tabbed browsing, this more than makes up
for it.

come on! we have had 64-bit provisions in compilers since VC++ 6.0
and 64-bit filesystem provisions for how long? and why aren't we using
it? I hope the developers have heard of __int64 and LONG_INTEGER and
that we are not still using fopen() fwrite() from stdio.h and the
like. We have Win32 functions and they are simple to use.
I had hoped IE7 wouldn't have this kind of limitation. please don't
put a limitation like this into IE8.

Downloaded Explorer 7 and it constantly boots me off the internet. Called
the local provider and was told it is because of my firewall and security.
Need help on how to fix this. Very fustrating when downloading or in the
middle of a project and it fails me.

Can't see Temporary Internet Files
Suddenly I am unable to see my Temporary Internet Files. I am running IE6 on
Windows XP PRO Service Pack 2, and yes, I have checked that hidden files are
showing. When I go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files, all I see is about 20 miscellaneous files.
But if I go back one level and right click and choose properties for the
Temporary Internet Files folder, it says that I have over 9000 files in 31
folders, with a size of over 500 MB.
Any ideas? Tag: "live Search" in IE7 Tag: 157759
Printing in Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Vista Home Premium
I was on a Driving Test Success Hazard perception website. I then changed
website to view the Yoggie Gatekeeper Pico website. I then decided to print
the Yoggie Gatekeeper Pico website. When I did, it printed our the Driving
Test Success Harzard perception information in the header. All other
information was correct.
Just an annoying error I wanted to point out. Tag: "live Search" in IE7 Tag: 157758
