Hi,
It is possible that a third-party security program is preventing the
"runonce" page from saving your settings. You can bypass the page with
registry edits available from:
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
and/or
945385- A blank Web page is displayed when you start Internet Explorer 7:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945385/en-us
It is also possible that the same, or another, security program is blocking
header/user agent info from websites. That's why websites can't determine
the version. Look through options of third-party programs for a setting
like:
Enable browser privacy, block header info, block personally identifiable
user data, etc.
IE doesn't include a calendar. That would have to be provided by another
program such as Outlook (not Outlook Express)

These problems may also indicate a bad installation of IE7. Uninstall /
reinstall IE7 making sure that antivirus/antispyware programs are disabled
during the install.
Follow all other tips at:
Known issues - Installation tips - IE7:

IE7 download:

Hope this helps,
