1) There seems to be no way to change text size and have it "stick" so that
subsequent page will show the same size text. The default seems to be
"medium" with no way change it and make it stay changed. Can this apparent
defect in IE7 be repaired?

2) I recently suffered a crash. Since re-installing, the "Rockwell" font no
longer appears when the FONT button is clicked under "Internet Options". How
do I fix this?

jcgiglio@att.net

I know about spam; that's what the DELETE key is for.

I've had experience with this newsgroup before, involving Windows Update.
The responses were irrelevant and/or wrong. I discovered the answer by
myself. If you KNOW the answer to
my IE7 questions, please respond.

It's usually that the site itself is defining the type size. You can set IE
to ignore that information from the site in the Accessibility options.

Sorry to come across as disagreeable, but have you TRIED to change the font
size??

The GOOGLE hit list is one of the "subsequent pages" I was talking about. It
does NOT set its own font style and size.

This kind of thing is EXACTLY what I complained about in the original post.
Will somebody please do a little investigation of this problem so that you
can provide a relevant and USEFUL response??

I just change my font size from medium to large and opened 3 different sites
in different tabs and all opened with large font. Menu Bar, View, text size,
large.

If you think of responding to me in the same obnoxious vein as you did
to Frank, then forget it. I will not waste my time and yours and no
further replies will be forthcoming,

No guarantees as I don't use IE7 but this was valid in IE6:

If IE-View-Text Size does not stick....

---solution 1
If you are using Eudora 4.2 or greater then use Tools-Options-Viewing
Mail and uncheck "Use Microsoft's viewer"
It is Eudora that is setting the IE text size and unchecking that
option will stop it.

The key that Eudora 4.x will change is this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\International\Scripts\3]
"IEFontSize"=hex:02,00,00,00

---solution 2
In Outlook 2000 or greater go to Tools/Options/Mail
Format/Fonts/International Fonts, and for each font
change the "Font Size" entry to your desired size.

I'm using neith Eudore nor Outlook 2000.

And I'm coming across irritable and obnoxiou for good reason; the
participants in this newsgroup seem to specialize in answers that are
irrelevant, or wrong, or both. I saw this especially vividy in the probem
with updates. I eventually figured that my firewall (Computer Associes) might
be interfering. Once I figured out to turn off the firewall, updates came
down OK.

BTW: Hoe does one get "Rokwell" into the list of choies of fonts that are
shown when the FONTS button is clicked under Internet options?

Looks like your hint was not enough and you will have to spell it out, Frank
or do you have a movie you can show him? <eg>

Maybe the font issue is tied up in something other then IE that is not
correctly installed. Since others seem to be able to adjust fonts in IE.
maybe you have a different problem that's indirectly related.

I did a GOOGLE search on the problem, and the answer turned out to be
surprisingly simple. CTRL- reduces the font size, while CTR+ increases it.
And once changed, it stays changed on subsequent pages.
