    - Blank pages from explorer Hi...like others I have a few problems since I bought Vista. One is that is really annoying is the sudden appearance of a white blank page. I can only move it by CTRL ALT DEL. then cancel the current task which is of course ' the windows explorer blank page'.     - IE slow over terminal services Hi, I have a 2003SP2 terminal server with IE6 (enhanced security uninstalled). When a user is logged on, either at the console, or on an RDP session, internet explorer seems sluggish. Can anyone suggest why IE might exhibit this slower behaviour for non-administrators. Admins and non-admins use the same proxy server. I've also tested applying the same policies to both. If I add an affected user to the local admin group, browsing is as fast as it should be.     - Help? I can't copy and paste web address since downloading IE7 I often copy and paste web addresses onto a WORD page or from a WORD page onto the web. The words "copy" and "paste" are both grayed out so I cannot copy and paste. This has just happened since I downloaded IE 7. I am very frustrated. I tried to email a question through the Windows help section but got the message I would have to pay.     - Internet explorer 7 is a travesty! I have used IE7 for the majority of a year now. First on my old cumputer, with XP, later also on my laptop with Vista 32. I simply cannot believe that one of the worlds biggest software developers can release such an unstable and memory-demanding internet browser??? Yes, the security is foolproof and it is good lookin', but, in my opinion, it's still vastly inferior to its predecessor, IE6 (which wasn't all that good either). It crashes when using the built-in search tool, it crashes when using flash player or quicktime, but most of the times it just inexplicably crashes. The finalized version of IE7 has been availible to the public for over a year now. Countless updates has corrected even more countles issues. Just look at size of this discussion group! I had already tried all the suggestions that were given in this area and I am very frustrated. I had been having problems with IE, previously. When I went to some pages the page would not show up.     - Easily accessible toolbar button is needed for switching Flash on/ Internet is full of annoying Adobe Flash based advertisements. But there are some useful applications also that use Flash and removing of Flash add-on from IE is often not a good option. It is possible to disable Flash from manage add-ons menu and activate it manually for sites where you need it, but this process is slow and annoying â?? it is necessary to surf between different menus and windows and do at least 6 clicks with mouse for single switching. I think it would be very helpful if there was a on/off style button on IE-s toolbar, that lets do the switching with just by one click and that reflects the state of the switch by its appearance.     - How do I get back the old F3 search window? Hi, Im not sure when this changed, but I installed Vista today and all the updates I guess and now when I press the F3 key on my keyboard it brings up a small search box at the bottom of internet explorer, but what I NEED is for it to bring up the old search box popup panel. The reason that I need the old style popup search panel is that I need to use the search feature of internet exploder on every page for a sequence of numbers, so after it has searched once, I move onto the next page, fill out some forms, then I get taken back to the page where I have to do the searching again, but when I press F3 again, I find that the panel is still open from last time and now my search phrase isn't highlighted like it normally would be and it's red instead. i've now got to move the mouse down and highlight the old search numbers so that I can type in new search numbers. While on the surface it may not seem like a lot to have to do this, try having to do this several hundred times per day, this new search box that appears at the bottom of internet explorer is a time waster instead of a time saver for me. Somehow when I e-mail a person from my contact list, who's also on my Group List, the entire Group List receives the e-mail. I erased the Group List in favor of the Individual List.     - Internet Explorer in Vista 64 bit (Home Premium) I only have Live One Care for security etc. and am using Vista 64 bit O/S. I can brouse in AOL and everything works well there. M/S IE was working fine On my original start up with Vista 64 and then I lost it. I downloaded full latest version of Live One Care (which does not indicate any problems) and this seemed to cure the problem. However I have lost the use of IE yet again and L1C tech people say there is nothing wrong with their side of things. So Where do I go from here? Diagnosis says there can be Firewall blocking but it states that M S firewall is properly configured to allow internet activity. Have contacted AOL my ISP and as I can use their system without problem they say its MS. Have been going round in circles for weeks now! Any help would be appreciated.     - Microsoft Money 2003 Authenication problem w/IE-7 installed Help needed. I just recently installed IE7 on my computer and for some odd and unknown reason I cannot sign-in into Microsoft Money 2003, using the .Net Passport service. I receive an error message stating that the log-in attempt has fail. I have applied the authenication fix for IE7 because I 've had an authenication problem trying to use Outlook Express 6.0(?) with IE7. After applying the fix OE6 now works properly, but not Microsoft Money 2003. Mind you, I can still log in if I state that I am working offline and do not need the .Net Passport features. However, when I press the SIGN-IN button, everything works as if I had not used the offline option to sign-in. This problem was not present with the earlier version of Internet Explorer (me thinks it was Ver 6), but only after I installed IE7.     - IE restarts after being closed normally I'm getting a strange issue with IE7 (Vista OS) When i close the last IE on my desktop window, I get the 'IE has stopped working' message followed by the 'IE is restarting' msg then a new window opens at the homepage. If i have multiple IE windows open they close normally until I close the last one, when this always happens. I have tried closing the window using the X close button. or clicking the Windows logo and then Close, and the same thging happens each time.     - Script problems in IE7 running on Windows Server 2003 Almost every page I visit pops up a scripting error in IE7. Just on this site I received an "object not recognized" popup alert--asking if I want to debug or not ..... How can I fix and diagnose when it seems it is the browser that is having the problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? This is, to say the least, very frustrating. I have to click through scripting errors when visiting what I would think is a basic page.     - new internet explorer keeps crashing please help! i am working in uganda and when i arrived here, i regretably downloaded the latest version of microsoft explorer (7.0, i think). since downloading it, every time i send an email from my work account, an error message pops up and explorer shuts down. the internet is very slow here so having to deal with this on top of a very slow internet is quite frustrating! i would like to go back to an older version if possible. if not, i will likely look to other non microsoft web explorers for less frustrating service. hope you can help. thanks!     - IE 7 Crash I'm a french IE 7 user on tree XP computer. I have a very annoying problem with IE 7 on each. This issue comes everytime I'm performing this operation : I use the search bar (on the top right) a lot, so sometimes I need to clear the list of my previous searchs. To do so, I go in the search field, I press the bottom key, then I highlight and remove all of the items (using the supp key). The issue comes when i use the search bar for a new search : My search suggestion list was cleared as described before. I go in the search field, I type my phrase and then IE crash (and lose all opened pages :( ). I need to reopen IE and retype my phrase to make it work. As it happens on my tree computer, I think it is an IE 7 bug (tell me if i'm wrong) Here is my question : Is this bug known from MS ? If it is an IE 7 bug, is there a patch planned ?     - Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger error message When I have the Internet Explorer 7.0 open, a Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger window appears wih the following message "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in msn_sl.exe [784].". Most of the times, the file reporting the error is â??msn_sl.exeâ??, which belongs to the Windows Live Toolbar, although from time to time, other programs also report a similar error. I also noticed that the number inside the square brackets is not always the same, even for the same program file.     - Some text and links missing when viewing web pages. I'm having an odd problem that I can't seem to find any information on. When I view some, websites I am unable to see some lines of text or some links unless I left click in the void and drag my mouse and then they show up then they will disappear again after moving the mouse away. I have already updated to IE 7 and it did not help. I am at a loss. If I click were the link is suppose to be I will go to the page. These are just random websites, nothing I put together, and it only happens on very few but it is extremely agravating.     - Ad blocker for IE7 recommendation needed. I just dumped Norton Internet Security 2005 and installed McAfee Security Suite 10. Yikes! Look at all the ads that are all over the web pages I have been browsing for years ad-free. Norton contained ad-blocking and pop-up blocking that McAfee doesn't seem to have.     - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage I have been using IE ver7.0.5730.11 for several months now with no problems ... until today.     - Web Site Videos Lock up IE 7.0 When I try to watch a video of Heros from the NBC web site, the video stops and my browser (IE 7) locks up. This occurs randomly at different times and I have to close IE 7 and restart again at the point it locked up at and continue until the next lock up.     - IE 7 Closes All Windows When Closing One I have a new problem. IE 7 crashes when you close a tab but that has recently gotten better but still happens off and on. My new problem is that anytime I close a window any other window still open now closes as well!!! This is driving me nuts! If I do a search and open multiple windows (which I got in a habit doing because closing tabs crashes IE 7) if I want to close one of them because I'm finished with it IE 7 now crashes, everything is gone!     - Displaying PDF as plain/text Hi all, I was just wondering if there is any way to display the contents of a PDF file without swapping mshtml out and replacing it with Adobe's reader? I would like the browser to attempt to display the PDF file as plain text, even if it's just a bunch of gibberish. The problem I'm having is that IE always prompts me to download the file instead of trying to display it. The reason I want IE to behave this way is for performance statistic gathering purposes. AFter the update and rebot I attempt to launch ie7 and instaed of attempting to go to my home page its attempting to forward to http://go.microsoft/com/fwling/?LinkId=74005 also a popup box prompting me for a puser name and password to connect to bombay.alliance.com stating the server bombay.alliance.com at Alliance Internet Gateway requiresa user name and password. My initial thought was this was a virus or malware causing it so I ran a virus scan a pestscan and removed everything. Still no luck. I went so far as to rebuild the pc using the manufactuer supplied restore CD and OS. When I udated using microsoft update agian the same issue happened after microsoft updated to ie7. any ideas on this? Tag: swf files do not play Tag: 129392

In help file I have hottext when click on the that a popup window will display the definition of hottext. In IE7 .swf files do not play when "allow active content to run in files on
my computer" is checked. There is an error "object expected" on the very
first line.

If I uncheck the setting they run fine, but then simple Javascript brings up
a warning message. This happens on two separate computers, so it is not
specific to a particular machine. When is MS going to do something about it.

You may have to create the registry key itself as well as the DWord value
though.
