I started out with IE6 on my homel laptop which is a dell using XP, SP2, NTFS
file system. In March I accepted the upgrade from MS for IE7. I did not
like it and went back to IE6. I posted at this site on "how to go back".
I'm now back on IE6.
There has been one side effect from the March transactions. When I bookmark
a favorite, I can not find the .ico file from the web site I bookmarked.
Usually I would find them in the temporary internet files folder. My work
laptop currently uses IE6 and the "TIF" folder is where I find the .ico
files. My work laptop is also the same configuration as my home laptop
although it has always been using IE6. I have read that IE6 stores the
.ico's in the temporary internet files folder but that IE7 stores the
information at the location of the bookmarked .url. (actually the
explanation I read was something about an alternate data stream ???) See
attached link
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms537656(VS.85).aspx
Can someone explain how IE7 is (was) storing the .ico information. Also,
how do I get back the function of the .ico files being stored in the "TIF"
folder
Thanks in Advance
