    - IE7 (Vista OS) - can not display the website (HTTPS only) this morning I could go to HTTPS websites. my wife was online and tried to go to a HTTPS site. a notification popped up and she just selected "deny"..i do not know what the notification was. now we can not access HTTPS sites.     - Links not working in IE 7 I'm having trouble clicking through web pages. Such as Target. It will only allow me to click to about 3 pages if I'm looking at products. Also, if a site has a drop down menu to take me to another page in the site, it will not work. Another problem is with sign ins such as blogger.     - Windows keep opening There are times where I click a link that opens a new window, do something, and then close the window. All of a sudden, Inernet Explorer will open windows with that same link constantly, before I even close the first window. To stop this, I have to open the Windows Task Manager, and end the "iexplorer.exe" process. Is there a way to stop it from doing this at all?     - ie7 menu bar flashing Running ie7 under vista with all available updates applied. I have the classic menu bar hidden. Sporadically I experience instances where the menu bar unhides, the file menu is selected and the menu bar is re-hidden. This can happen once or begin to occurr rapid fire until I have to close IE because IE becomes unresponsive. I have disabled all loaded add-ons without success. It doesn't appear to matter what application is running or has run that I can pinpoint. The only way I have been able to resolve is to re-boot my machine. I have seen postings in other discussion groups (not this one) where others are experiencing this issue. Any suggestions on where else to look? Any registry suggestions? Any help is appreciated. Now my tool bar for internet explorer and the task bar is hidden and when I have an internet explorer page open, the page takes up the entire screen.     - IE 7 Access Denied Error At home my laptop uses Blue Sky satellite Internet and at work uses AT&T Internet. Coincidentally, the Blue Sky Internet is accessed through a Linksys wireless router AND AT&T access is through an identical router. WEP is used on Blue Sky, no security at all at AT&T. Sometimes, after being on Blue Sky and then getting on AT&T, I receive the following error when opening IE: "Access Denied (policy denied), your system policy has denied access to the requested URL." This happens every so often, not all the time. I make no changes anywhere on the PC to cause this. I have searched the Internet and it seems there are others that experience this problem. But NO ONE has the solution. Sometimes it corrects itself. Dell had me roll back my PC to the previous day and the PC will get online okay. It seems to me that the issue is going from one ISP to the other. I would like to know how to correct it when it happens without rolling back the OS (XP PRO).     - IE 7 Freezing - more symptoms I frequently have issues with IE 7 freezing. The only way to get out of it is to kill the session either thru taskmanager or by clicking the X and closing it after the prompt. I have gone through the whole process of starting IE without any addons and resetting all the IE settings. Neither of which "corrected" the problem. I have observed that the problem always seems to happen when I have multiple tabs open and one of the background tab's web page throughs a jscript error. Add in the fact that the error has to be in a background tab and it seems to have to sit for a minute or two. If this sequence of events occurs the lockup is 99.9% guaranteed.     - IE6 crashes on exit Every time I close IE6 (or maybe almost every time) I get an error: The instruction at 0x0442137b referenced memory at 0x0442137b. The memory could not be read. I have run sfc /scannow I am fairly sure there is nothing wrong with the RAM, although I have not run a memory checker.     - ICON changed to default Hi, I have a stange problem in IE7.0, if I create shortcut of any webpage on my desktop and change the icon through the property>change ICON. I am able to change the icon, but if I open the link then the icon changes to the default icon. like If I create a shortcut of www.google.com on my desktop, the google icons comes up and I am able to change the icon, but If I open that shortcut in IE7, it again changes to default.     - ARRG! IM SOO FRUSTRATED WITH IE7 ok so i got this new convertable tablet pc. for the first few days, the internet worked fine, but then it stopped. At first, it was saying that i was not connected, and then it said there was a ip address conflict. When i looked at the connection, it said it was transmitting, but not recieving anything (could it be firewall?). I then took it to a technician, who said it worked fine, but that the computer was set to a static ip address, and had to be a dynamic ip address. He then said it was my network at home. I am a student, so i do the majority of work that needs the internet connection at home. The connection is a broadband/wired connection (i dont know if this is a LAN).     - forcing IE back to a page automatically What I am looking to do is force IE back to a page automatically after a page not found error when I lose connecivity due to a wireless deadspot. I know this sounds weird, but I was able to do this on an XP Prof workstation with WSH running in the back ground. The WSH script would launch that instance of IE and then check every x number of seconds to make sure it was at the desired URL, if not, the script would force it back to the correct web page. This was in done so that nework drop outs (don't ask) could be recovered from automatically.     - restore IE7 browser-history & browser-history not being saved In attempting to correct a problem of browser addresses not saving, the number of days to save history was lowered to the point of loosing some much needed URLs. I would like to recover the correct history file from my backup program. The difficulty is that I do not know which file to restore and its location in the maze of folders NOR do I know if this might be a solution to regaining the lost URLs. So, in order to locate a three-week-old file backup copy, what is the actual file path/location to my IE7 browsing-history file OR is there another way to retrieve something from my backup that will restore the older browsing history? In anticipation of restoring the URLs, I have increased the number of days to keep pages in history. FYI, I still haven't figured out why IE7 stopped keeping track of my browsing history.     - IE 7 Cascade opening at Vista Startup Since the last service pack updat for Vista, IE7 has launched at startup 3 times with a cascading loop. This issue did not occur prior service pack. This action occurs both on my laptop and desktop - so I believe that rules out hardware issue. IE7 will cascade load multiple browsers. They cannot be manually closed, due to the popup of the next window timed between 15 and 30 seconds startup. It consumes the processor speed and basically halts any action at the desktop. Via the start up manager, the entire group must be selected and end tasked. If you allow IE to restart after that, the cascade continues. When I left-click on links to non-HTML files in IE, there are several possible outcomes: 1) The file opens in the browser (e.g. JPEGs) 2) The file opens in a browser plugin (e.g. PDFs) 3) The file opens with its default associated program, outside of the browser (e.g. MP3s open with Winamp) 4) A dialog box pops up asking if I want to save or open the file (e.g. RAR archives.) Windows XP and Vista have different themes, I prefer Windows Classic, everything Micrsoft touches looks worse and worse in classic mode, please keep this in mind and consider making it look better in classic mode.     - IE 7 Compared to 6 Here is some constructive criticism. Go back to the IE 6 interface. With the 7 interface it seems like I cannot customize it at all. The stop and refresh buttons are obscure far to the right of the address bar. The tool bar with the home print page and tools buttons canot be moved and has to share space with the tabed web pages. It feels very clunky and half baked. I hope IE 8, when it comes out, is much better. Something strange has happened. My favorites have disappeared and I cannot
delete any history - at all. It just does not function. Please help.

Which version of Windows? (Including SP level - SP1, SP2, etc)
Which version of Internet Explorer?
Have you just installed or updated a third-party security program or another
program which interacts with Internet Explorer?
What third-party security programs are running?
