When I open IE, it goes to my home page, which is a blank page. Then I type
in the site (www.abc.com) and it opens a second window for that site. The
origiinal blank page remains. Then I have to delete it. When I want to open
another site, I have the same problem. It didn't used to do that. What have
I done? and how can I eliminate those double windows?

Windows version?

Check to see if one or both of your ALT keys is sticking.

I just installed Vista Ultimate (and formatted the drive) and I'm here
looking for answers to the same problem. Occasionally I get the MS pop-up
about different levels of security and Windows has to open a separate browser
window. (?)
This is annoying as hell. Not only does it open a blank window, but if I opt
for "open in a new window" to leave the original site open, it opens the
blank window, then opens the new site on the original site. :|
