Running IE7 on XP Pro, having two problems:

1) Whenever I click in the address bar and type in an address, IE locks up
and shows Not Responding and I have to End Task in Task Manager.

2) Flash programs will not load. Shows blank screen or area on page where it
should be.

NOTES:
* These two problems are not related. I had the first problem for several
months before the second problem.
* I have re-installed the Flash player and have installed all the updates.
* I have run Microsoft Update and have installed all available updates.
* System Restore did not work either.

Can anyone give me any direction on these problems please?

Hi,
1) You may have an incompatible browser add-on.
See: http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp
for troubleshooting information.
More at:

If not caused by a legitimate browser add-on, this may be a malware problem-
adware, spyware, hijacker, trojan, etc.
See these sites/pages for help:

2) Internet Options> Advanced "Allow active content to run in files on My
Computer" Try this unchecked (default) and checked.

Check to see if a third-party program, toolbar or other browser add-on is
blocking scripts, ActiveX, active content, etc.

Try uninstalling (completely) / reinstalling Flash Player. Use the
uninstaller at

Hope this helps,
