I installed IE7 but I am still getting BTYahoo! instead when I want the
Internet. I know there is a way of correcting this with a key Ctrl and
something else, but I cannot remember the something else. Will someone
kindly remind me please?

I assume this is not Vista.
Start | Control Panel | Add of Remove Programs | Set program access and
defaults
Make sure IE is the default browser.

Thank you for the reply. I did that and I get IT7 on OS XP but I still get
the http:\home.bt.yahoo.com\ instead off http:\uk.msn.com\ page, which I
prefer. How do I default that one?

which is not there. How can I restore it?

Do you not see the blue question-mark Help icon on the Command bar?

Pressing F1 should open IE7 Help (as it does in any Windows application).

Pressing ALT should make the Menu bar available temporarily.

More shortcuts: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/attachment/715071.ashx

If you can't make Menu bar available and/or if the Command bar isn't
available and/or IE7 Help isn't available, uou may have a horked (dirty;
bad; flawed) install of IE7. I suggest that you..,

1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per
http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html

2. Uninstall all toolbars and third-party Windows Themes (including Window
Blinds).

3. Reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install,
and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the
installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.

Do you not see the icon that looks like a house?

And, by the way, http://home.bt.yahoo.com IS getting the Internet, which is
what your post said you couldn't do.

Thank you for the reply. I have two computers. One with XP the other with
Vista. The one with XP crashed, so that it could not be restarted and I had
to reinstall Windows and everything else, including hundreds of Updates.
Quite a job. Pity we cannot go back to Windows 98 times.
