MICROSOFT SOFTWARE AND APPLICATIONS

A purchased computer from the store do not have enough memory to operate
Windows XP Software and Applications. Windows XP memory need to be 1GB or
more to operate IE7 and some other software. Windows XP memory upgrade will
effectively indicate a difference in downloading and running applications
which scan the computer. Internet Explore 7 will function properly without
the proper memory for operating system Windows XP.

Rubbish. I was operating XP SP2 with IE7 and Office 2007 on 756 MG RAM
perfectly well.

I'm guessing this is a troll, but just in case I'm wrong it's pretty obvious
that this info is wrong. I'm using 512MB on my XP Pro SP2 system here right
now with plenty of apps running, and I've even got XP on a laptop with 128MB
and it works fine (if a little slow to start up sometimes ...). We haven't
got a single desktop machine in this company with more than 756MB of RAM
(and apart from one machine, the rest of the XP systems have 512MB or less).

Agreed. Same here with 512MB of memory on *all* of our office pcs. I do

I could get more detailed; however, computer specifications do play a role in
the conclusion. My conclusion is based upon an average individual with
little to none computer experience. Sata Drive, Pata Drive, Mother Board
Processor and other factors do come into play.

Certainly - but your assertion that IE7 won't run on XP with less than 1GB

All of the hardware you've listed play no part in determining if IE7 can run
on a PC with less than 1GB of RAM. So long as you conform to the minimum
system requirements for Windows, IE7 will run - while by no means a low spec
system, I've got it running here at work on a Celeron 1Ghz laptop with 128MB
RAM on Windows XP SP2.

It's not in daily use, but we use it as an EPOS till (Preh keyboard with
card reader, barcode scanner, custom till application) at exhibitions we go
to when we need 2 tills, or the primary till laptop is out at another event.
It's a little slow to start applications, but once they're up and running
it's very useable - I even use it occassionally when out of the office to
VNC over SSH to our network so I can remotely fix problems.

Dunno,

I find the new version of FireFox to be better suited to my needs than
IE.

I run with 1 Gig Memory because I always load so many apps
that It's usually needed.
