I came across an oddity (at least I think so) in IE7 which I feel is
annoying. I have searched and can't find any mention of it so I am now
wondering if I have something set wrong.
I was looking through my history one day to find a site I know I visited the
day before ... it wasn't there even though the history went further back in
time. Several days later was looking at history again when I realized the
issue.
History is Displayed for the Zone you are in. If your home page was added
to a "Trusted Site" then when you open IE7 and look at history, you will only
see Trusted Sites listed. You have to browse to a webpage that is in
"Internet" to see those pages. I this the normal setting ? Can it be
changed ?
Tabs bouncing back and forth are annoying enough at times, but having to
open seperate IE windows to see History is a bit much.

Hi,
Windows XP or Vista?

I can't reproduce this on XP or Vista. I have no idea which program it would
be, but I suspect a third-party program as the cause.

Does this still occur after starting up in Safe Mode with Networking?

Does this still occur if you clear the History, get a fresh start and keep
History to less than 30 days?

This sounds like the work or a browser add-on or third-party program.

Don,

Thanks for the response, I didn't use your links because these are well
maintained clean installs. I did go back and figure out what is doing it,
but I beleive it is someting we may need to live with. But will test further.

I have my Trusted Sites Zone set to Protected Mode Off, I beleive it had to
do with using the MS Virtual Server web site, and, Internet Zone is Protected
Mode ON, it is this setting that is filtering the History List. When I turn
Protected Mode ON in Trusted Sites I get the same History List in both it and
Internet.

However, even with Protected Mode Off and the History list being different
in the 2 Zones, you can still Search History and find items from the hidden
portion of the list.
