Anyone have any issues running Flash on IE7? We have Flash pre-recorded
demos and one of our users on IE7 only gets "a black screen with a red
triangle in the top corner". Does this sound familiar to any of you?

TIA!

Try uninstalling / reinstalling Flash Player. Use the uninstaller at
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
Flash player download:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
If there are still problems see

Error message when you try to open an ActiveX control-based MIME handler in
Windows Internet Explorer 7: "Invalid character"

Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues that prevent the
Flash Player Installation.

I am losing my mind on this issue...I've read and sent post after post. I
keep getting the same response. I have done everything that is listed here
and no luck.. I can't visit half the sites I want to. Keep getting the
same "this site requires flash, click here to install" I have installed,
uninstalled and re-installed. Nothing seems to work. I am a web designer
and can't even preview my own work without a message. Somebody PLEASE,
PLEASE help on this one!!!!

There is a limit to what can be achieved by writing back and forth. If
"nothing seems to work", it's time to show your computer to a
professional technician.

Leonard:

In other instances, you may be right, but there are far too many folk having
the same problem (including myself).

There is something definitely wrong between IE7 and Adobe's Flash. I did
not encounter the problem until I did an automatic update from MS and after
that point, all h*ll broke loose. (No, I didn't do a Restore Point, so,
shame on me!)

One would think that between these two giants, they would try and resolve
the problem together; since so many folk use their products. It isn't that
they're not aware of the problem, it's more of what they're willing to do to
fix it.

Hi,

Are you the Original Poster(Jon LaBarge)? Or are you a "Me to" poster in
this thread? If you are not the OP, you would be better served starting
your own Thread detailing what your issues are and what Operating system you
are using.

If you've already tried all the suggestions posted to this group over the
past year or more regarding Flash Player problems-to no avail, and you've
scoured the Flash Player Forum for help with your issues:
Flash Player Forum:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/categories.cfm?catid=184&forumid=44
and you've poured over all the Technical articles for troubleshooting Flash
Player probems in Windows-to no avail:
Flash Player Troubleshooting:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19166&sliceId=2
Then you might try opening a free Webcase support case with Adobe with
regard to your issues:
Flash Player Support Webcase information:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid=1343432&enterthread=y

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

Donald:

I appreciate your reply. Succinctly to your point; NO, I'm not the original
poster.

YES, I have tried everything suggested here and elsewhere. The ONLY thing
I've not tried is your last suggestion; opening a Free Webcase at Adobe.

If in fact that is one way to resolve the problem, then again why don't they
publish the remedy for others to follow. I'll admit that no two machines
are configured the same or they have the same apps. running on them, so that
might account for the difference in the success some are having and others
are not in following the suggested remedies. The problem seems to cross
OSs. Not only does it affect XP, but Vista as well.

I'm no geek, not by a long shot; but I do think that when either vendor was
trying to add additional functionality or fix a hole, the synergy of the two
products was broken. They worked beautifully before. What changed??

XP Pro SP2 up-to-date

I don't know that it will resolve your problem, but it will put you in
contact with those best able to resolve it.

It is published at the Flash Player Forum, that link I directed you to is a
Sticky note at the top of their Forum page:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/categories.cfm?catid=184&flcache=9592032
the author of the Sticky note is Bentley Wolfe, Senior Support Engineer,
Flash/Flash Player.

Agreed, however I have to add that on the 5 machines I maintain here-with
various versions of Windows(XP Home, XP Pro, Vista) installed on them-that
I've never experienced a problem with the Flash Player installation on any
of these machines. So the problem you are experiencing is not Global in
nature, but rather a symptom of your particular system configuration.

Good luck, and keep us posted if you are able to resolve the issue via your
Webcase with Adoble.
