When I try to download a file from zone.msn.com, I get an error message:
â??Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded.â??

I have XP SP2, IE7, DSL high-speed internet, and Auto updates work.

I reset all zones to default level, closed IE7 and re-opened it. Iâ??ve
rebooted. I went into Internet Options, Security, and made sure downloading
files was enabled. As far as I can tell, the website is not in the
restricted list. I couldnâ??t add it to the trusted zone because it isnâ??t an
https website. I tried turning off my Virus scan & Pop-up blocker, but that
didn't help either. The website said I needed directx 6. I could not
download an upgrade to my directx and donâ??t know what version I have. I read
many postings and don't know what else to try.

Hi Hank,

Is this a work or home computer.
Work computers may have restricted sites that you cannot view or modify on a
user account. Consult your system administrator.
Firewall? Nortons has a 'Productivity Control' option that may have placed
zone.msn.com in the Restricted sites zone.

What security icon do you see on the status bar when you visit the site?

Regards.

This is a home computer. I have AT&T Yahoo! Online Protection (the icon at
bottom right always shows no matter what website I'm at). I did not find
zone.msn.com in the Restricted sites zone.
