Here is some constructive criticism. Go back to the IE 6 interface. With
the 7 interface it seems like I cannot customize it at all.

The stop and refresh buttons are obscure far to the right of the address bar.

The tool bar with the home print page and tools buttons canot be moved and
has to share space with the tabed web pages.

It feels very clunky and half baked.

I hope IE 8, when it comes out, is much better.

NOTE
I do love the search bar and the tabbed browsing, this more than makes up
for it.

Hi Yodaman,

You can customize the IE7 toolbar to some degree....

Right-click on the toolbar and uncheck "Lock Toolbars".... you should see a
gripper (looks like | on the left hand side of each toolbar and the command
bar) appear.

If you double-click the 'gripper' the toolbar it belongs to will resize,
either expanding or contracting to show or hide its contents (this works in
all versions of IE). You can double click on the Command bar gripper to
resize it to show your tabs.

There are known issues with some toolbars, like Google, Yahoo and Live which
prevent you from moving multiple toolbars to one line. Check with the
toolbar vendors for the latest versions of their toolbars or you can
download a small registry fix for Google from
http://iecustomizer.com/?url=DisableGoogleBHODownload.asp
or for the Yahoo Toolbar from
http://www.iecustomizer.com/?url=DisableYahooBHODownload.asp

An Addon to customize the IE7 toolbar is available from
http://www.iecustomizer.com/?url=IE7TBTweaks_Download.asp

IE7 takes some time to get used to it.

If you want to go back to 6, but want tabbed browsing there is the Live
Toolbar with tabbed browsing.. Uninstall IE7, which will restore IE6 in its
place, then go to toolbar.live.com and download and install that toolbar
which has tabbed browsing for IE6. It is not as good as IE7 though IMHO.

Regards.

It seems that appearances are more important to you than the internal
workings of a browser. In that case I suggest a web search using this
search term: skins for internet explorer 7.

You may prefer Firefox, for which there are many skins. (They're called
'themes'.)

Be very careful whenever you install a third party skin, since many are
known to harbor malicious software.
