I have recently been updating my brother's website, hosted by yahoo and I
regularly seem to be blocked from the site.

It seems in the mornings the site will load and I can log into the ftp site
via my ftp client, but after a while I cannot view the site or get logged
into the site via FTP.

I tried purging the cache and cookies, tried to view the page through a
proxy server, tried viewing it on firefox but nothing wants to work when I
first start having the problems.

I will bet tomorrow morning I will be able to load the page and log into the
ftp site, at least that is the way it has been the past couple of days.

So what is blocking me from just this one site? Because I can view any
other site. I called my ISP, and they don't seem to think it is anything
they can do. I called Yahoo Small Business can they turned the case over to
engineering and will probably get someone on it in a month...

Is there something in IE7 that is blocking me? I turned off all firewalls
and added it to a trusted site, but I am just at a loss.

The site is www.billymollsadventures.com if it matters.

Thank you all for any help!
Kurt

It's probably more to do with your OS Networking. If you had bothered to disclose
your OS and details about your connection I could have started a cross-post for you.
Also, one of the features of IE8b1 for broadband users will be more than 2 concurrent
connections. So, if you aren't using dial-up, trying IE8b1 might give you some different
symptoms.

My desktop is running Vista, I have a DSL connection with a Belkin wireless G
router connected to it. My laptop is running XP with a Belkin wireless G
card for a connection.
I am not familar with the term "IE8b1" as noted in the reply.

When I get to the point where I cannot access the site, I cannot access it
on either computer.
Also, when I cannot access the site, email messages will not get sent to any
users on the site (users@billymollsadventures.com), this makes me feel that
it's an ISP issue.

As expected, I am able to view, and log into the site through my ftp client,
this morning. However, I do expect to be 'blocked' within a couple of hours,
as the past couple of day have shown me.

Thanks for the help,
Kurt

"IE8b1" is the new Internet Explorer Version 8 still under development.

It's best to ftp through Explorer or directly through DOS, not Internet
Explorer. The only way I do it is through DOS where it still works the same
as it was in the old MS-DOS.

Thanks for the info Frank.

I did not even know I could FTP through explorer, but I got it set up and
will use it to FTP from now on. Hopefully it will take care of the problem.
It seems like I get blocked after a number of log ins because the ftp client
I was using times out after only about 5 minuts.

Thanks again,
Kurt

When IE7 came out it didn't handle ftp and the only way was through
Explorer. I think it was added in IE7 in a relatively recent update.
