    - IE7 Returns HTTP 400 errors and "Cannot display webpage" messages New installation of MS WXP Pro with SP2, NIS 2008. The machine connects to the Internet, the IPConfig /All looks right, MS Messenger connects, as does e-mail. Yet IE7 yields an HTTP 400 error or "cannot display the webpage" on every attempt to connect to a web page but the first one. Meaning - if I Reset IE7 settings in Internet Options I can connect to the Microsoft.com home page, but can NOT click on any link from there. I cannot at any time open WindowsUpdate nor MicrosoftUpdate. Other web pages fail too. All MS Updates were installed earlier this month, NIS 2008 appears to be updating fine and has the most current version of its updates - from the best that I can tell. All scans are clean.     - CHM files does not work in IE7 Hi all, We have a problem in our company recently. Our IE has been upgraded to IE7 and help CHM files stop working. CHM help files are located on shared folder and IE is unable to open them from that shared folder but if i copy them to my local pc they are working well. So i am afraid it is some security issue. I found out this should be cased by security update 896358 or security update 890175 as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892675/ but the workaround described in that page is not working in IE7. I tried to edit registry and added UrlAllowList to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\HHRestrictions ...but with no result. Please help me solve this issue.     - I want to manually enter URL's Here's the problem, when I go to enter in a URL by either copy/paste or type it in, I always supply the http:// and especially https:// and I have noticed that now when I type in the full URL, Internet Explorer 7 also enters in http:// which makes it impossible to get to a website, and it is also the case when I need to get to a https://. I did find a fix for entering a secure site, under Tools/Internet Options/General Tab/Languages/ and selecting the box that says Do not add 'www' to beginning, etc. This did fix it so I can enter in https:// and continue to the specified site, but I still cannot manually enter a regular http://. I rather enjoy having full control, and do NOT like automated features so please tell me how I can force IE 7 to allow me to do something so simple as enter a full URL.     - Favorites do not appear after importing I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with IE7. I erased my favorites somehow, so I tried to import a saved bookmark.html file. The import worked, but I still cannot see my favorites from the Favorite menu.     - Error 400 "Bad Request" I have a Konica copier (Bizhub 350) that gets managed with a web browser. On a fresh XP system I can get to it fine and manage it. But after I get all 97 of my windows updates for XP and IE7 I only get error "400 Bad Request" when I try to manage this copier. IE is not totally ignoring CSS; font family designations, layouts, etc., are being displayed.     - User Authentication: Logon I am struggling to understand how the following two logon settings apply to the different zones: - Automatic Logon Only In Intranet Zone - Automatic logon with current username and password If you use the setting "Automatic Logon Only In Intranet Zone" in the Trusted zone, then isn't that exactly the same as setting it to "Prompt For Username and Password". Because if you browse to a site that is Trusted then the browser will recognise that the site is not an Intranet page and therefore prompt for automatically login. A site can not be in more than one zone, right? Also if you use the setting "Automatic Logon Only In Intranet Zone" in the Intranet zone, then isn't that exactly the same as setting it to "Automatic Logon With Current Username And Password".     - Possible to enlarge text without zooming whole page? I am switching from firefox back to explorer. The one feature I miss is the ability to increase font size on a page with ctrl + and decrease it with ctrl -. In explorer, those commands increase and decrease the size of the text but they do it by zooming the whole page. When I get the text big enough, part of the page is not visible.     - IE7 History by Security Zone I came across an oddity (at least I think so) in IE7 which I feel is annoying. I have searched and can't find any mention of it so I am now wondering if I have something set wrong. I was looking through my history one day to find a site I know I visited the day before ... it wasn't there even though the history went further back in time. Several days later was looking at history again when I realized the issue. History is Displayed for the Zone you are in. If your home page was added to a "Trusted Site" then when you open IE7 and look at history, you will only see Trusted Sites listed. You have to browse to a webpage that is in "Internet" to see those pages. I this the normal setting ? Can it be changed ?     - Script errors I am using IE4.0 in a virtual Windows 95 because my host machine (Vista) can barely access the internet because the "Dependancy service/group" died. On the host, I can't surf the web but can go onto remote desktop. On the virtual, I abandoned IE4.0 because of "script errors". I now use Netscape and Opera to surf the web. The only browsing on IE I use is "Active Desktop", which i have because of the upgrade from IE3.0 to IE4.0. I also got outlook express, the "log off" start menu moved into the main menu, Channel surfing (doesn't work), and that's about it.     - No Access to IE or AOL Out of nowhere, there is no longer the ability to access IE or AOL. Mozilla, however, works fine. We have a Dell computer, one year old, which is running on a Cable connection, OS Windows XP Media Center, SP2, no router, just directly connected to the cable. When you click on IE, it gives you the message that the page cannot be displayed. When trying to sign onto AOL, it just says, "Goodbye." We tried to reset IE by going to Internet Tools/Advanced/Reset. No luck. Tried uninstalled our anti-virus, and even taking off the Windows firewall. We have reset the modem as per the instructions and it allowed us access to AOL ONCE, but that was it. Next time, it wouldn't let us on again. We have restored the computer to a previous time, no luck. I even installed IE7 again and tried the beta IE8, but still no luck. Does anyone have any ideas why this should be happening?     - iexplore starts up on its own with advertisement on it I installed something on to my computer and now internet explorer starts on its own with advertisement on it. There is a new search bar on it called "ie search" or something like that. Not sure on how to get it to stop comming on and if I have installed an adware program to my computer. All Windows updates have been installed. I was running Version 6 for long time. Installed version 7 and these files are missing. Wondering if this is tied to the problem I am having with netflix to see instant play movies. All activeX is enabled, but I still get an issue with this site. I have a problem with my internet explorer where any drop down boxes in the
page itself, that should contain menu items, does not show the menu items. It
does display the blank spaces for where the menu items should be, and it does
actually go to the correct page when selected, but the text does not show.
Does any one have any ideas on how to fix this?

No need to tell us what versions of Internet Explorer and Windows you
have. And no need to say which web page is "the page". We'll just guess
and get back to you.
