Your domain DNS in HK should already be set to be AD Integrated. Then when
you create the DC in NY, the DNS zone will automatically be created.
Yes.

1. In the New York server, point DNS IP in IP properties to the existing DC
in the other site. THis way the machine knows where to "find" Active
Directory. Then run DCPROMO.

2. Once completed, check Event viewer again for any errors. If there are,
post the eventID # and Source name.

3. If no errors, then install DNS under Add/Remove, Windows Components.

4. Once DNS is installed, do NOTHING else. Walk away from it. Do NOT
manually add any zones or it will cause numerous dupe errors. Wait about a
half hour or so and the zone will automatically appear.

5. Check Event viewer again for any errors. If there are, post the eventID #
and Source name.

6. Once the zone appears under Forward Lookup Zones, go into the NIC's IP
properties and change the first DNS entry to point to itself (IP address,
not the loopback), and for the second entry, point to the other DC in the
other site.
