When I select TO in a new Outlook email message, I want to get to my personal
contact list. The only options in the Show Names From The box are Global
Address List, All Contacts, All Groups, All Users, and Public Folders. I am
on a company network, and I'm only getting the company directory, not my
personal contact list.

Enable your Contacts Folder as an email address book in its properties.

My problem was the same as Karen G outlined. Four times this year our Head
Office (networked) glitched, and we lost all our personal settings on the
local computer. It takes me a couple of hours each time to reset it back to
the way it was, that is, the desktop shortcuts, custom toolbars and macros in
Word and Excel, autotext, general program preferences, reload the personal
templates, redo the signatures and Contact Lists in Outlook.

I reset most of it last Friday except for the Contact Lists. I, too, could
only get Global
Address List, All Contacts, All Groups, All Users, and Public Folders in the
"Show Names From The" box. The only way I worked out how to get my personal
Contact Lists back in the â??Show Names From Theâ?? box was to make new folders
for each Contact List, and while in the Address Cards View, drag & drop each
card individually onto its relevant new folder. I then deleted the now empty
old folders.

I wish Iâ??d read your response earlier, Russ! Iâ??ll keep it handy for next
time it happens, which it surely will. The IT person in Head Office insists
itâ??s a hardware glitch on our local computer as to why our personal settings
get erased each time. He could not offer any assistance at all, said he
restored everything he found on the network, and that I would have to do all
my personal settings manually again.

As mentioned before, I finished resetting it for the fourth time today, and
I consider itâ??s a shocking waste of time at my end. I feel his tech knowledge
isnâ??t up to scratchâ?¦ but what do I know?...Iâ??m still learning the easy stuff.
